Made to fit a larger gentleman. Length 71cmTogether with a pair of heavy cotton men's white trousers, possibly 19th century but with replaced modern buttons.Waistcoat: A 3cm hole to one shoulder, and brown spotting. This is the most serious area of damage. Some pinholes in the lining and various area of light staining, now illustrated in photographs. A couple of the fabric buttons have unravelled. No evidence of repair.

Waist measured flat, total measurement from side to side: 117cm.

The Glen Plaid was first worn in 'To Russia With Love'.The trousers are slim waisted, approx 28" Chest 40", leg measurement, waist to hem 41" Sleeve, shoulder to cuff: 24" All measements approximate.Condition generally good and clean, no mustiness or smell. A small number of tiny holes (shown with pen) One larger hole (2cm approx, below crotch on inside leg). Some small marks inside on lining, a length of unstitching in the lining that would be an easy repair, also very small area in one armpit. Light staining to the inside around the neck. Tailored for Peter by Anthony Sinclair in 1961.

Under UV light there is no indication of later paint but it is likely that a varnish is screening the oil pigment.

The first monograph devoted to the architecture of a British country house. Houghton Hall was built between 1720 and 1735 for Sir Robert Walpole.Containing 35 illustrated and numbered plates and we believe complete, aside from the missing front cover. The volume requires restoration. Light water staining, Some pages quite tanned. Lacks front cover, the first 7 pages are separated from the spine and loose. One long tear with historical repair and a smaller repair. We have now taken multiple photographs to show as much of the condition as possible.
