A gentleman's chronometer pocket watch with arabic dial and subsidiary seconds dial with inscription to reverse and silvered case presented to Sgt. Simpson 2DLI by W.Os & SGTs. St. Martin's camp France in appreciation of his services to the mess of 1916 15667 Sgt.,William Simpson, Second Batallion, Durham Light Infantry was awarded the distinguished Conduct Medal, Britain's highest gallantry award after the Victoria Cross. His DCM citation was gazetted on the 25th August 1917. His citation in the London Gazette read as follows: 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty During the successful day light raid he outflanked and rushed an enemy bombing post, killing and capturing the garrison, and by his dash and courage setting a fine example to his men. The success of the enterprise was very materially added to the success of the whole raid'.
A pair of late 19th Century French bronze and ormolu candelabra, each modelled as bronze maidens holding aloft ormolu three light candelabra, each with a flaming torch finial supporting a garland of flowers, the three lights with beaded detachable sconces supported on stylised scrolling birds heads and scrolling supports, the maidens each standing on white marble bases, each with an ormolu frieze of classical cherub scenes and on square plinths, apparently unsigned, height 68cm
A late 19th Century Clarke's patent Fairy Light base. The pressed flint base of circular dish form with a relief moulded diamond pattern set with a central stepped pediment with fluted edge, the inside well stamped, measures 7" across, together with a late 19th Century Stourbridge glass example with marbled and cased pink and white body with applied drawn and crimped clear crystal collar and feet.
A Losanghe vase designed by Archimede Seguso for Seguso and made in 1952. The vase having a circular base rising to a rounded square body with an internal cane work pattern with repeat squares in tonal peach with white bands and light cranberry linear overlay. This piece retains the exhibition label for the Venice Biennale in 1952 and the factory foil and paper label. The base singed and dated in diamond point, height 7.5" by wide at rim of 8" square.

This deluxe copy celebrates the 100th edition of the Wind in the Willows. The introduction is written by A.A. Milne, who was a fan of the book and who also wrote a play of the tale, "Toad of Toad Hall".
