TWO SWANSEA PORCELAIN JAPAN PATTERN ITEMS comprising (1) circular tureen-stand decorated with chrysanthemum & trailing buds, the border with seeded green ground opposing panels divided by pink & white flowers with cobalt leaves & trailing buds, red stencilled SWANSEA mark to base, pattern number 436, 19cms diam (2) an Imari-style fan-handled dish inscribed Swansea and pattern no. 233 to the base, 22cms diam Condition Report: no apparent problemsthe stand – gilt rim and band show minor wear. Central flower has light surface scratches and small glaze blemish above flower . base has collection label. Red Swansea mark lacks second ‘A’ firing crack on the inside of the foot ring.The shell dish – gilt rim fairly worn. Raised edges has worn glaze. Centre has scratches and rubbing. Base also has labels.
HISTORICAL NINETEENTH CENTURY ALBUM OF WATERCOLOURS & PRINTS RELATING TO THE VIVIAN FAMILY & SWANSEA AREA in gilded Morocco binding and titled 'Swansea Bay', most pictures with explanatory notes and dates, many comprising Vivian residences including watercolours of 'Marino 1816' and '...after alterations 1820', 'Singleton (Marino) 2nd Alteration', 'Lodges at Singleton', also noted 'A days fishing in Black Pill' and many sketches signed by Pitman (possibly John Pitman - fl.1814-1841) including 'Tricksy, Little Foxhound Terrier from Truro Kennel' a portrait of a standing greyhound named 'Venus' another of a horse and drawings of other animals, also signed Pitman 'Mumbles Light House - Bracelet Bay' and other local scenes to Swansea. Also noted, a watercolour of the Ladies of Llangollen riding side-saddle, signed M Lindsay, watercolours and drawings of local scenes by pioneering photographer and painter Rev Calvert Richard Jones, original pencil drawings by Singleton architect P F Robinson, sketch of local scene signed Townley, various portraits of ships, fine watercolour botanical study signed Mrs Withers etc Provenance: consigned directly from a member of the Vivian familyThere are approximately thirty to forty, most are watercolours, most of the book is full and most are titled.

A Meissen Porcelain Six-Light Chandelier, circa 1866, with leaf sheathed baluster column and scroll branches naturalistically modelled and applied with scrolling foliage, each branch and column hung with a foliate pendant, the whole picked out in pastel and naturalistic colours and gilt, 77cm high Provenance: Purchased by Historic Royal Palaces at Badum Auktionen Banberg, Germany on 25 May 2004 for the Garden Room at Apt 1A, the apartment of HRH Princess Margaret at Kensington Palace. Approved for disposal in March 2017 and transferred to Milford Buildings Preservation. Some typical minor losses. 071019
A George III Mahogany, Satinwood Banded, Ebony and Boxwood Strung Sofa Table, early 19th century, with two rounded drop leaves above two real and two sham drawers, on turned baluster legs joined by a turned stretcher and sabre legs with brass cast feet, 153cm extended by 74cm by 72cm. Size with drop leaves down 97cm wide. Cosmetically good. Rather light in colour, but uniform. General surface scratches consistent with age. Some old strengthening work to legs, but table is structurally sound. 050220

Heriz Rug North West Iran, circa 1920 The blood red field of stylised flowers and leaves around an indigo medallion framed by stepped ivory spandrels and indigo borders of samovar motifs flanked by mustard guard stripes, 216cm by 150cm Provenance: Sold in these rooms, 19 July 2013. One end with very minor losses, other end with losses into outer guard stripe. Selvedges original but wearing. Pile generally fair but with localisd areas of spotting which white cotton warps visible. One light stain.
A Dutch Silver and Enamel Necessaire, Apparently Unmarked, Probably late 17th century, comprising: a pair of scissors, a knife and a pick, each with silver handles engraved with foliage, with bird finials and steel attachments, in fitted tapering case, with later light blue enamel and suspension loops, 8.5cm long, gross weight 1oz 5dwt A very similar example, though with figural finials, believed to have originally in the Palace Collection of Egypt, was offered Sotheby's, London, 6 December 2011, lot 43. It was described there as 'French, late 16th century'. Another example of similar form, though in silver, was sold with a Dutch marriage casket, Sotheby's, 22 May 2019, lot 305.

Total watch weight 104.9g.
