The child’s mother, Angelica, was the daughter of Bell and Duncan Grant. A rift occurred between mother and daughter as a consequence of her marriage in 1942 to David Garnett, as he was 25 years her senior, and had been Duncan Grant’s former lover. Amaryllis drowned in the Thames at the age of 29.Light creases and marks to the sheet generally, consistent with handling. Evidence spots of minor foxing in areas. The chairs are slightly more worn, with the stick back section on one of the chairs being loose and in need of re-setting. Further wear to the top rails on all of the chairs. In need of some tlc.

Together with a vintage 30's style white lace wedding dress with long sleeves, button detail and ruched bodice and a tulle bridal veil with embroidered edging and applique bow detail. (5)(B.P. 21% + VAT) Both have minor wear and some small stains to lining. Generally good. Some pulls in fabric/embroidery. One small brown stain, otherwise good. Veil: no obvious damage.
