The Letter Bag Of "The Great Western" Or, Life In A Steamer 1840 Book - First Edition, An interesting 323 page book of light hearted letters written mostly on or after travelling by this early trans-Atlantic Liner, in all being an interesting account regarding ocean steamship travel at this time. In original cloth boards with gold tooled illustration of The Great Western" steamship on the front cover, size 5" × 8¼". SS Great Western of 1838, was an oak-hulled paddle-wheel steamship, the first steamship purpose-built for crossing the Atlantic, and the initial unit of the Great Western Steamship Company. She was the largest passenger ship in the world then constructed. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The ship proved successful and worked to New York for 8 years.

WWII - Scarce German Propaganda / Anti-Semitic Handbills in Russian - all in Russian language, with headlines such as 'The Jews are your Eternal Enemies', with the Germans portraying that the Russians are ruled by Jews, another 'Jews like rats, eat the well -being of your people! Kick Jews out the Country!', plus others depicting the 'Jews making money from Death' most with German marks of printing to the reverse, the smaller examples with 'This ticket is valid as a pass for officers, politicians and crews of The Soviet Army to the front of the German Troops' in German to the reverse, in two different sizes, the larger measures 15x20cm, the smaller measures 10x14cm - with light wear as expected, o/w in very good condition (10)

(loosely inserted the receipt from Henry Sotheran- bought for £650.-); 2- Orley Farm. in 2 volumes bound in 1. Chapman & Hall, 1866, first edition, later issue (According to Sadleir: this issue was made up from remaindered sheets in 1866 of the first edition of 1862 using a new title-page). With the Author’s Signature pasted to front endpaper. Cont. half leather; little rubbed; bound with only one title page, as usual with this edition; 3- An Autobiography by Anthony Trollope, with an introduction by Michael Sadleir, this copy inscribed to John Arlott from Sadleir: World Classics, large paper copy, Number 6 of 25 special copies (label to this effect tipped-in before title; VG.
