Fine quality 19th century Italian carved shell cameo brooch, the oval panel carved in high relief depicting a classical male bust, in yellow metal brooch mount with beaded border, 45mm x 39mm CONDITION REPORT Very good condition. Shell cameo in very good condition with no damage to the carving. When held to the light there are fine hairline cracks within the shell which appear to be naturally occurring within the shell rather than damage. The brooch mount is also in good condition, good quality and appears to be high carat gold but has not been tested. One of the four 'C' scrolls which secures the cameo into the mount is missing. Total gross weight 16 grams

Pair of tree root handled vases - both have small chips on raised decoration around rim. Both also have wear to gilded/painted decoration on handle and main body. Battle of Bladensburg - A flintlock Light Dragoon Pistol to the Bucks, 9inch barrel, border engraved lock stamped with a crown over GR and TOWER across the tail, the cock a working replacement, full stocked with regulation brass mounts, the underside of the trigger guard engraved with a cartouche containing the word Bucks, in script, later brass capped wood ramrod. the Bucks Volunteers served as part of the 85th and took part in the capture of Washington DC before meeting their demise at New Orleans.

Ramrod lacking, top jaw lacking, cracked through wrist with working repair. On Sunday the 18th of June 1815 the 7th Light Dragoons suffered 52% casualties to their compliment of 380 Officer's and Men.

An 1821 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer's Sword to Edward Leyborne Popham DSO, 90cm slightly curved blade etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cyphers and owner's initials ELP, regulation three-bar steel hilt, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its steel scabbard. Colonel Edaward Leyborne Popham DSO was born in 1876 and initially served with 26th (King George's Own) Indian Light Cavalry. In 1914 he commanded the Aden Infantry Brigade. DSO London Gazette 17th October 1917.
