†JOHN BARNARD; a rare yew wood table, 'The Diana Willow Table', with organic base 'growing' through the top surface before reconnecting, length 150cm.Provenance: The original table and design by John Barnard was commissioned as a wedding gift to H.R.H. The Prince and Princess of Wales from the Royal County of Norfolk; the young Princes, William and Harry, did their homework on their table. John Barnard continues to make limited editions of the table in very low numbers including the commissioning of this table. The design echoes the form of a weeping willow tree and hundreds of hours are taken on each table to achieve the form and finish. The artist studied furniture making and followed the designs and tradition of the Arts and Crafts movement, opening his first workshop in 1971.Condition Report: The central yew panel has a few splits to this section. One of the swept bows is also split. Overall in good condition with light surface scratches as you would expect.
