Gerry Anderson: The Secret Service (1969) - Original prop, tan leather wing-backed chair with wooden legs,screen-used, as made by property master, Peter Holmes. Height 38cm x Depth 16cm x Width 20cm. Provenance: The Personal Collection of Peter Holmes, Property Master, and Set Designer.Peter Holmes joined Gerry Andersons Century 21 team as a props assistant after the production of Thunderbirds and very quickly became one of their most talented craftsmen. Set designer, John Lageu, gave Peter his first job at the Slough Studios and asked him to build a chair for Brains in the feature film Thunderbirds Six, and when fellow Set designer, Keith Wilson, saw Peters finished chair, he asked him to make the furniture for Lady Penelopes Pink Room in the same film. Peter went on to design and build props for Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, The Secret Service, the UFO series, Terrahawks and Space Police. Over the years, Peter Holmes has worked for many productions including, Set Designer, Along the Way (1972), 1970s pop videos for Adam Ant, Godley and Creme, Duran Duran, and later, Calling Elvis for Dire Straits. He sculpted the head for Max Headrooms ventriloquist puppets and supervised the shoot of Maxs exploding head. Peter won an award for a model of a Dauntless fighter bomber made for a crash sequence for the TV mini-series, War and Remembrance (1988-1989).Condition Report: Light wear to leather from production use, otherwise overall good condition.

BLUR Ultranol, light up pill. Stage prop from The Great Escape album (1995) Tour. Approx 93cm x 30cm. Has 2 Suspension cables fitted. Ultranol was the name of the Blur B Side track to their single The Universal. The vendor obtained this prop in a raffle at the 10 Years of Blur exhibition at the Lux Gallery, Hoxton in 1999. The number 21 is written in marker on the body of the prop. Condition Report: Plug has been cut off. Second photograph was taken showing this item illuminated before plug was snipped. Plastic is broken at one end, has sellotape, scuffs and marks. The Red inner part of the pill moves around when it should stay in one place so electrics will need attention to ensure safety.

Provenance: The vendor was given this autograph album in the early 1970s by a neighbour whose relatives had worked for a leading UK. theatrical production company. The vendor continued to collect autographs in the album during the early 1970s, all of which were signed for them in person at various venues including the stage door of the Theatre Royal, Brighton; Peter Cushing when he gave a talk at the Brighton Film Theatre, 1971; Sid James, Barbara Windsor, Jack Douglas and Joan Hickson whilst the cast were filming Carry On Girls in Brighton; and Springfield Revival when the vendor met the group at the Brighton Dome, 1974. The Sega copies of the Mills High-Top were so popular they were eventually designed in a modern light up cabinet giving them an independent identity. Jennings Lucky Punter 1961 One Arm Bandit. The Lucky Punter was a machine made for the British market by Jennings of Chicago, hence the typical British name. The Lucky Punter is very similar to The Governor, which was possibly the most popular and remembered one arm bandit in Britain, with most people referring to the shiny brass Indian head bust on the front. These machines proved very appealing to the eye because of their bright light up flash, huge looking jackpot, and shiny chrome finish. Measuring approx. 17" width, 27.5" height, 18" depth. Refurbished and restored by the vendor to a high standard. These machines were originally designed for Western casino operation, and carried a wild west theme that promoted the possibility of vast wealth and the excitement of prospecting for gold. Dr. Christopher Dresser (British 1834-1904) for James Couper & Sons, Glasgow "Clutha" Glass Bottle Vase Circa 1890, the clear body with trailed blue and bubble inclusions, acid etched mark "Clutha" to base, trace of further mark "Designed by C.D.", also bearing Liberty & Co. lotus flower trademark.19cm high"Clutha" is the old Gaelic name for Glasgow's principle river, the Clyde; this series of glassware was designed by Dresser as a new venture for the Couper firm primarily known for their scientific glass production. Dresser took inspiration from Roman glass when designing this range and it was retailed exclusively by Liberty's in London, hence their trademark to the base.There are three lines to the upper neck with can be felt with a fingernail both interior and exterior; a very small surface blister also to this area; some further light surface wear noticeable by feel more than sight.
