Smith Private 18th Hussars, 1821, Newbridge Ireland' watercolour on paper, 29cm x 23cm; another19th century example titled 'Officers of The 18th Hussars' (2)  Research Notes: In 1815 the 18th King's Irish Regiment of Light Dragoons (Hussars) took part in the final campaign against Napoleon at Quatre Bras and Waterloo. It had previously served in the Peninsular (1808-1814) where it sustained heavy casualties, losing an entire squadron at the Battle of Vitoria in 1813. The regiment was disbanded in Ireland in 1821. Condition: Very well painted, finely picked out in gilt throughout, foxed with signs of old bookworm. The second, lightly foxed, torn towards the bottom of the study, both unmounted and unframed.

An impressive vintage five storey dolls house, in the form of a town house, with a faux brick and cream painted facade and wooden window frames and ledges, opening to reveal an interior of 15 rooms, complete with: wallpaper, flooring, staircase, fireplaces, and most light fixtures, approximately 118 x 70 x 120cms tall.PROVENANCE: From the estate of Patti (Patricia) Lomax of Berwick.Patti, and her much loved husband, Eric, featured in the blockbuster film, ‘The Railway Man’, and were played by Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman. It tells the true story of Eric, who, whilst serving as British army officer in World War II, was captured and subsequently tortured by the Japanese in a Burma labour camp. After the war, he suffered years of mental turmoil, but was eventually rescued from his torment through the love of Patti.
