A JAPANESE WOOD NETSUKE OF MONKEYS MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY Realistically carved as a primate cradling her young before her, their hair finely rendered and their eyes inlaid in light and dark horn, signed Ikko in a shaped reserve at the back, 3.6cm. See Japanese Works of Art, 14th November 2018, lot 847 for a related netsuke by Ikko sold in these rooms. Also, see Christie's London, 15th May 2013, lot 421 for another example. Cf. F Meinertzhagen, The Meinertzhagen Card Index on Netsuke in the Archives of the British Museum, Part A, p.225 where other monkeys by Ikko are listed.

He is a former unified light-welterweight world champion, having held the WBA (later Super) title from 2009 to 2012, and the IBF title in 2011. Boxing Alan Minter signed 10x8 black and white photo. Alan Sydney Minter (17 August 1951 - 9 September 2020) was a British professional boxer who competed from 1972 to 1981. He held the undisputed middleweight title in 1980, having previously held the British middleweight title from 1975 to 1976, and the European middleweight title twice between 1977 and 1979.
