William Woollett (1735-1785), after George Stubbs ARA (1724-1806), Shooting, a set of four, engravings, published by Thomas Bradford, 1769-1771, 17¼ x 21½in. (43.8 x 54.5cm.), in Hogarth frames. (4) Paper toned to all four engravings - plus several spots of darker staining to margins on all four. None examined out of frame - possibly laid down. - Plate I: Large circular stain to lower right and large dark stain upper right. Spotting and surface dirt across the sheet. Old restoration to tear lower left corner. Two small tears visible to top centre margin. - Plate II: Dark stained hole at lower left corner and abrasion/damage to surface of paper to left and above this hole. Several small old splits to paper and creases, plus general light surface abrasions across the sheet in sky. Some spotting throughout. - Plate III: Large restored tear to top centre and another tear lower left margin. Dark stain patch lower right corner and crease above this just above treeline. Two small abrasions to paper surface at top left corner. - Plate IV: Small slightly darker stain mark at lower left. Otherwise good.

A Guernsey Militia scarlet tunic, for a Sergeant of the North regiment, eight silvered buttons to front bearing crowned lion on crown, blue button down epaulettes with white / beige trim, bearing an embroidered number two, with conforming collar and cuffs, Sergeant stripes to arms, vertical slit to rear with three buttons to either side, white / beige cloth interior. White trim, fading to a cream, small splits to light interior, light wear etc, (sprayed with moth repellent) overall very good.

A 2nd Royal Guernsey Light Infantry scarlet jacket, navy blue collar with leopards passant to either side the outer edges finished in a foliate design gold braid, twist epaulettes with three cruciform embroidered badges topped by button, eight gilt buttons to front with bugle and trefoil leaf design, centred by number '2', navy blue cuffs with gold embroidered bands, white / beige interior with concealed red leather belt, slit to rear with three conforming buttons to either side. Some water damage staining to both under arms, moth holes to back right shoulder arm area (sprayed moth repellent), inner leather belt loose to edges and ends in places, overall good.

A rare 3rd Battalion Royal Guernsey Militia belt buckle, two piece interlocking buckle, each section with scrolling belt inserts, one bearing a roundel having a strung bugle crest with the number '3' atop the bugle's central area, the second an open ring section with 'Royal Guernsey Militia' in capitals to the outside with white buff leather sword belt. Very light wear, belt with little staining, very good.

A 1st Royal Guernsey Militia Victorian Officer's black cloth Helmet, the black cloth covered skull with gilt fittings including, rose bosses, quatre-foil mount with spike finial, QVC helmet plate with Regimental motto centred by Guernsey crest with hung bugle below with number '1', gilt metal chin chain/ strap with velvet backing, the interior with beige leather sweat band, green peak lining, cream silk lining with maker's trade label for J. B. JOHNSTONE, complete with storage tin. Possible added elements?, some light staining, green inner with moth holes, overall very good.

An extremely rare 2nd Royal Guernsey Militia shako, black cloth sides and top, having diagonal stripes with silver trim, patent leather peak, silvered chin chain / strap with velvet backing, shako plate with gilt Regimental motto 'PRO REGE ET PATRIA', centred by Guernsey crest with banner below 'SECOND ROYAL GUERNSEY' atop silvered starburst with crown surmount, rosettes to the side and lion's head ventilation hook at the back, interior with leather sweatband and quilted purple silk lining, green underside to peak, complete with tin case. Black cloth with a few moth hole, patent peak with light dents and scratches, sweatband slightly dirty, some loose threads to inner trim, case with scratches and wear, overall very good.

A Royal Engineers Volunteers Officers Home Service Helmet, early 20th century, dark blue cloth body cork helmet with volunteer pattern officers home service helmet plate, having central scroll blanked, silvered rosette side bosses, cruciform spike base with rosettes and officers fluted spike, leather sweatband and crimson cloth lining to interior, housed in original tin hat box, together with a leather binoculars pouch, pair of white dress gloves and a portapee.* Provenance: Helmet belonging to A.W. Bowerbank, Engineers, later joining C & A Parsons, developed steam turbines for Cunard, then worked on National grid of Canada and later Battersea Power Station. Light wear, missing chin strap, tin with rust, overall good.

A fine and well fitted 19th century ebonised rosewood Palais Royal travel necessaire / vanity chest, by L. Dujat, the box having inlaid gilt banding, the hinged cover with removable mirror, opening to reveal fitted silver plate mounted faceted glass jars, engraved with foliate scroll decoration, of square, circular, oval and rectangular forms, each sitting in shaped blue velvet recesses, the front with brass fittings, inscribed with retailer 'MAISON SMAL L. DUJAT Sr Bte SGDG PALIS-ROYAL', opening to reveal three trays with brass inset handles with engraved foliate decoration, the top one with fitted blue velvet tray with manicure and other tools, to include file, penknife, scissors, button hook, corkscrew, pen, etc, the middle with shaped storage boxes of varying form, one tin lined , the bottom velvet lined probably for stationary, key present, 10½ x 13 5/8in. (26.8 x 34.6cm.). Light surface scratches and wear to outside, mirror good, some matched tools, mostly correct, jars with no cracks found, some copper showing through plate, appears near complete, very good.

(97.8cm.), together with three fishing rods, to include a fine John Stephenson Makers Alnwick Salmon fly rod, 12ft split cane, burgundy whipped guides and intermediates, with retail label for 'The Reel Thing'; Hardy Bros Makers Alnwick three piece 17ft rod, numbered 46890 and a un-named vintage boat rod. (4) Hardy rod with tip eye missing, light wear on others, some metal fatigue, case with scratches etc, no key, overall good.

WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik) Gondola centre piece, the bowl formed as a gondola with standing gondoliere holding an oar, having shaped green glass liner and wire flower frog, the whole resting on wave formed base, marked 'WMF, EP, 1/10, OX', 21 5/8in. (55cm.) long. Some rubbing to metalwork / light surface marks, possible replaced oar, glass liner with nibble to rounded edge, overall good.

A contemporary laminated plywood rocking horse, bow type, with real horse hair mane etc, leather saddle and rains, 60in. (153cm.) long. 40½in. (103cm.) high. Very good condition with light wear, chipping and filling, one ear with tip rubbing, etc.

A Cartier 'Must de Cartier' gold plated and enamel propelling pencil, biro and fountain pen, c.1986, the reeded cases with burgandy enamel clips and Cartier logo to ends and cap, the cartridge fountain pen with 18ct gold nib, all three in the original cases with papers. (3) The pencil and biro have been used and have some wear to the plating to the ends and edges, and some light spotting to the plated finish to the main body. The turning end cap to propel the pencil leads and biro nib are working well. The fountain pen is in very good condition, with minor scratches from use. Nib VG. No cartridges included. All of the cases are in good condition.
