AMBROSE HEAL FOR HEAL & SON: A LIGHT OAK 'TOY' OR 'LINEN' CUPBOARD, the rectangular top with projecting stiles, above twin panelled doors with a turned knob handle enclosing a shelved interior, on square legs, with a label to the interior for "Heal & Sons, London", 40.75" high x 42.5" wide. See illustration. This is cupboard model '348' which was introduced in 1911. Available until 1929, some 250 examples of this cupboard were sold. Interestingly it was the first design to feature stiles that projected above the top of the cupboard, a design detail that would be re-used on many occasions. See Heal, O. CONDITION REPORT: One dent to foot approx 2mm and two light scratches to body of cup. Slightly misshapen when looked at from above and mild dent to top rim.

A late 19th/early 20th century French brass cased carriage clock with serpentine sides to top and base, the circular chaptering set with Arabic numerals centred with a pierced foliate scroll decoration, on turned wasted feet, height 11.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Mild surface wear commensurate with age, some tarnishing and polish residue, with a few light spots of tarnish to the face.

CONDITION REPORT: There is a chip to the lower edge of glass shade approximately 4mm in diameter,, one of the tightening screw holders has been broken and re-glued, top light bracket fititing looks to be later addition.

A rare early 19th century rosewood and bone set snuff box, the bone plaque inscribed "Jas As Bute RM 1831", 4 x 3cm.James Adolphus Bute was a Royal Marine upon HMS Beagle and in 2009 a scrimshaw carved by Bute sold in these rooms. CONDITION REPORT: The top left hand corner has been broken and reglued but apart from this just light surface wear as you would expect commensurate with age and a tiny area of loss near the thumb piece of the sliding cover. Loose sliding mechanism. Postage cost within UK would be £15 + VAT. Postage cost to USA would be in the region of £24 but please confirm after auction if required.
