1956 BMW 257cc R26Registration no. SXB 587 Frame no. 341393Engine no. 341393This BMW R26 was acquired by its late owner in 2015. According to a friend of his, it was certainly ridden whilst in his ownership. Some work was obviously ongoing, because offered with the machine are a pair of newly painted mudguards, a tail-light, an apparently new dual seat etc. Also supplied are various invoices, photocopies, an original repair manual, and a V5C, which with various other photocopies enable all 5 previous owners to be identified. Robert Tucker, the first owner, apparently kept it for 35 years, and there are some lovely period photos which indicate that he used it in long distance trials between 1958 and 1964. The recorded mileage is 16933. After a period of inactivity re-commissioning will be required before further use. Prospective bidders should satisfy themselves as to the motorcycle's completeness and mechanical condition. Sold strictly as viewed.Footnotes:As with all Lots in the Sale, this Lot is sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness, and originality prior to bidding. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

1965 Honda 247cc C72Registration no. CBF 85C Frame no. C72.105617 (see text)Engine no. CB72E102527The engine number of this iconic early Honda, which was purchased in December 2019, suggests that it is fitted with at least the crankcases from the more powerful CB72 engine. The recorded mileage is 2183. The frame and tinware appear to have been repainted, which may account for our failing to find the frame number on our initial inspection. A V5C registration document is supplied, along with two MoT certificates, an original Honda parts list, and a reproduction workshop manual. A friend of the late owner recalls that it was ridden shortly before the first lockdown, at which time there may have been a charging or battery problem. The tail-light lens is missing.

NEW ORDER 88 KEYBOARD FLIGHT CASE. With "New Order 88" stencil. Made by Penn Fab Ltd. Measures 137x50x25cm.These flight cases were absolutely necessary to us and were responsible for transporting our gear all over the world, don’t tell Greta Thunberg! We felt then, that to play properly we had to travel with all our gear. Now The Light just hire... It was a big decision to make but I find if you have the right attitude it makes no difference. As Mick Ronson used to say, “It’s not what you’ve got, it’s how hard you fucking hit it!”

It turned out they had the guy who built John’s bass rigs working for them and I went down south to meet him. He was lovely... he built all these amps and modified them to suit me. They are all great a collection of valve and solid state electronics gives them a lovely warm sound. I used these in ‘The Light’ for years.
