Edward Light of London, (1747-1832), a Regency harp lute, the black lacquered body gilt penwork decorated with trailing fruiting vine, with fret carved sound hole, mounted on a rectangular gilt plinth, inscribed 'E. Light, Inventor and Professor of the British Lute, 38 Berner Street, London, N11', circa 1815, 79cm high. The harp lute was invented by Edward Light in 1798 and is also known as the 'British lute'. The pillar supports tuned bass strings to extend the instruments range. The pitch of the bass strings can be raised by one semitone using stops similar to the pedals on a harp.

An untested turquoise and diamond set cluster ring, the central oval turquoise within a surround of eleven rose cut diamonds, all set in yellow metal to the the plain hoop stamped '18ct', weight 6.7gms CONDITION REPORT: piece appears to have been made up from something else. Condition appears to be overall very good and only showing light signs of wear and surface scratching. Turquoise has no signs of speckling or veing and so would suggest it may be a synthetic stone.

A Jaques Staunton pattern box wood and ebony chess set, the kings stamped 'Jaques London', two of the rooks and two of the knights with crown mark to the top, kings 8cm, with a mahogany box with original label and a chess board (Qty)The pieces are not weighted. The kings are marked 'Jaques London' to the bases. Two of the knights with a crown mark to the top and two of the rooks with a crown mark to the top. The knights are a little different in colour to the carved section to the bases. Piece with light age wear but essentially ok. The board is not guaranteed to be original to the set. The board is 36.5cm x 36.5cm and has general rubbing to the stained wood edging. The box has light age wear - label a little grubby and the slide lid with a glue repaired break to the top edge.
An Art Nouveau pewter tazza designed by Archibald Knox, in the manner of Liberty & Co, the circular domed foot below a tripartite stand supporting a planished bowl with cast flower head motifs to the rim, 27cm high CONDITION REPORT: Marked to the underside 'Made in England', “Tudric” '01161' and 'Solkeis'. General patina of light surface scratches and polishing throughout. Foot rim perhaps slightly bent (giving he piece a very slight lean) and a couple of slight knocks to base - see additional images.

Images appear clean and bright - perhaps some light age wear. Hard to fully ascertain description because the glass is slightly foggy and the edges of the canvas are not visible. Overall fair.
An early 20th century 'Peter Rabbits Book Shelf', the oak shelf with original label, to include a possible first trade edition of THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT, blue-grey boards with leaf end papers and 'wept big tears' on page 51, (at fault), twenty one volumes total of Beatrix Potter tales published by F.Warne & Co Ltd, 34cm high (at fault) CONDITION REPORT: The oak shelf has general light age wear - some scratches. The paper label to the top is worn - mostly around the aperture, sun faded and grubby. The books are in poor condition and some appear incomplete. Most have old ink on half title 'JH 23.12.28' and some other ink inscriptions. One of the copies of 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' does have 97 pages but there is no date on the title page and 'Edmund Evans engravers and printers... etc' verso. Please see additional images. One of the copies of The Tale of Peter Rabbit may be a first trade edition: Cover lightly rubbed, split to the bottom of the spine. Front end papers with marks and wear to the gutter. Thirty one colour plates. Frontis plate loose at the bottom of the gutter. Binding breaks between pages 8 and 9. Page 9 quite grubby. Page 8 with slight edge tear. Internally grubby with rounded corners - gutters open in areas and wear at gutters. Some attention will be needed (as found)

Some signs of light wear.

Both crazed throughout and with some staining. Flight Barr and Barr with some light rubbing to the gilding, some light scratches to the green, some slight grazes to the flange of the lid and two slight nicks at base.

Some light surface scratches. Some but few orange peel effect blemishes. Small nick to edge. Where the strainer bowls a crease/split is visible approx 0.5cm. Generally good and nothing hugely concerning.

The drape to the shoulder appears to be original - probably to disguise a join in the manufacture. The light fitting is not original and is loose. General wear to the base. Attention will be needed. Lighting lots are sold as decorative items only, prospective buyers must consult with a qualified electrician before use or installation of these items.

An Edwardian inlaid satinwood demi-lune display cabinet, with door enclosing three shelves, over two drawers, on splayed legs, 185cm H x 99cm W x 49cm H CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is grubby throughout and would benefit from a clean. The two areas of banding around the lower section are a lighter colour than the rest of the cabinet and is rough or split in two areas. There are some areas of damaged / repaired veneer around the drawers. Internally cleaner. General knocks etc to the moulding at the top and light patina throughout. Overall fair.
