The canvas tension is good and the picture is in plane. The paint layers are stable and secure. Areas of overpaint are present covering old damages and areas of abrasion. Examined under UV light there appears to be a repaired L-shaped tear to the pillars on the right side. The overpaint is not extensive and is well matched to the original. The varnish is semi-matte, clear and even. There are a few light scuffs to the surface. Please see additional condition images.

The sky lightly fluoresces and appears patchy which is our opinion appears to be an unevenness to the varnish as a result of cleaning.

There appear to be a few very small spots of retouching to the trees and possibly to the lower back of the figure on the left side.
