Harry Mapleson (British, early 20th century), oil on canvas, titled verso 'The Lights of the Village'. Signed and dated 1921 lower right Condition Report: it really benefits from a light, so much more is revealed as it is a dusk picture!. not relined or patched-all original. the worst fault looks like an eyelet has rested ( and slightly torn ,only the size of the eyelet,)29 cm from left and 5 cm up from bottom. I admire this picture so much more now I have lighted it ! frame is probably original but has a piece of the outer gilded moulding missing..
Cong lamp : A mid-20th century pale green glazed Chinese ceramic electric table lamp. With two bulb sockets and pull switches, H56.5 cm Condition Report: we have not tried it for working but would recommend it is re-wired anyway/, especially as it has an old fabric covered lead and a Bakelite 2 pin plug.looks like carved wood base but it is actually a gilded cast metallic base, it looks like spelter.There old dust marks on it bur no shade or nut to top however no cracks, chips or repairsUnder UV I can see very light craqueleur I am particularly happy with the age of this piece
Doulton, Lambeth England : An early hand painted baluster shaped tall vase with passion flowers. Marked under, 43.2 cm high Condition Report: whilst it is in need of a light wash, there are no signs of restoration ( blue lighted) cracks or chips. there are are two light surface scratches to glaze on neck but otherwise near perfect.
A 1920s honey oak cased canteen of silver plated flatware for 12 persons: by Atkins Brothers, Old English pattern, the three fitted drawers holding 12 table forks, 12 dessert forks, 12 dessert spoons, 6 soup spoons, 6 table spoons, 11 tea spoons (one missing), 6 egg spoons, 4 salt spoons, a sugar spoon, a mustard spoon, a pair of sauce ladles, a pair of sugar tongs, a pair of basting spoons and a soup ladle, plus the original 7 piece steel carving set; and a matched part set of 10 dessert and 3 table knives with ivorine handles, all in a three drawer oak canteen with rebated gilt brass handles and two keys, the canteen The flatware in good condition, with no wear to the plating and just expected light scratching from use. Lacks one tea spoon and the mustard spoon. The 'bone' handled knives are a matched, harlequin part-set. The baize lining is in good order. Some scratches and tarnishing to brass fittings throughout, with heavier tarnishing to the carrying handles, The oak canteen is good overall, with no engraving to the brass shield plate to the lid. Lock works well. Some marks, dings and surface dirt to the oak, with small chips and knocks around the plinth. One long scratch to the back. No splits.

A few losses from frames.
Two similar rugs: 1. a North West Persian hand-knotted rug with central cobalt-blue medallion against a rose-coloured lozenge and with cream spandrels within larger blue and smaller red borders (223 x 124 cm). 2. central ivory medallion against a light-pink rose-coloured lozenge and with further ivory spandrels within blue, beige and red borders with stylised repeating patterns (147 x 103 cm).

(LWH 122 x 46 x 84 cm)* Condition: Original maker's label to the back. Good, original condition overall (has not been re-polished), with some fading to the colour to the top, right hand side and right hand door to the front. The top has a tiny patch of small scratches to the front left corner, two faint, lightly indented scratches to the back left and a patch of darker spots to the polish to the front right. A few knocks and dings to edges of the front legs and to the moulding above the doors. The left hand door has a long, light horizontal scratch approx. 2in below the top edge. Original handles, the door catches work crisply. Both doors have a darker patch to the colour towards the top centre, which are 'handling' marks where the doors have been pushed closed by hand over the years. The interior has some ring marks to the right hand side from bottles. The brown lining to canteen drawer in VGC.

( LWH 44.5 x 33.75 x 5.5 cm closed)Functions well and solid structure. Some wear to polish to bottom edge of mirror frame. A few water mark patches to exterior and light scratching and wear to edges throughout. Small white paint mark and ring mark to top.
