A FINE BRITISH LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICER'S 1796 PATTERN SABRE WITH BLUE AND GILT BLADE, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number, circa 1810, with strongly curved 33in. broad fullered blade widening at the tip, the first half of the left side of blade engraved with floral devices, swags, an angel and a Georgian crown, all finished in gilt on a blue ground (some fading but generally strong and clear), the reverse similar but with a Royal coat of arms, the back edge marked 'WARRANTED' in gilt near the hilt, straight iron cross-guard with single rolled quillion and twin broad langets, 'P' shaped iron knucklebow with bevelled edges, wire bound leather covered grip and iron back-strap with doves-head pommel and twin reinforcing ears, complete with its iron scabbard of 'Trooper's style with provision for twin suspension rings (absent), the scabbard and hilt darkly stained.. UBERTI, ITALY AN INERT MINIATURE REPRODUCTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'COLT'S SINGLE ACTION ARMY', serial no. 2431, with 3 1/2in. blued barrel of approximately 4mm bore (the maker's signature on the underside removed and blued over), applied blade fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, solid colour hardened frame marked with Colt's patents and dates, blued trigger guard marked ' CAL 45', blued grip-straps and smooth flared walnut grips with impressed martial cartouche on the left side, retaining virtually all its original finish except where noted (light storage marks only), in a later wood box together with a Morgan silver dollar coin dated 1880 (fine condition) and a Colt trademarked keyring triple-bladed turnscrew.
HENRY NOCK, LONDON A FINE CASED PAIR OF 26-BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING-PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers, circa 1785, with swamped octagonal 10in. barrels, dove-tailed bead fore-sights, no provision for rear-sights, gold poincon inlaid at rear of barrels marked in raised letters 'NOCK LONDON' together with a crown, plain gold band and an engraved band to the patent breeches, gold lined touch-holes, fully engraved top-tangs, colour hardened bevel-edged locks with stepped tails and signed 'H. NOCK' below the semi rain-proof pans, roller frizzens, swan-necked cocks, walnut full-stocks with chequered bag-shaped butts featuring smooth central slab panels, guarded set triggers fitted with later finger-spurs, iron furniture and horn-tipped ramrods, both pistols with light cleaning to barrels otherwise in remarkably untouched condition and complete with their maker's walnut storage case lined and compartmented with coarse green baize (some small renewals) and containing all the original accessories including a scissors ball mould, a loading and cleaning rod and a lozenge bodied powder-flask together with other period sundries, the inside of lid with trapezoid parchment trade label explaining Nock's patent breech, the outside with flush fitting 'D' shaped handle to lid and hook closure.
