Housed in its original steel scabbard with two hanging rings. Slightly curved blade with etched foliage and strung bugle with 12th Kent Volunteer Rifles around. Crowned VR cipher to the other side of the blade and foliage. F Pelton, Dartford retailers mark to the base of the blade. Some light surface staining to the blade but generally remains in good condition.

Labruna of Naples, dated 1854, pipe back blade etched and polished with crowned fouled anchor, trophy of arms, bouquet, scrolling foliage and ‘V.Labruna – 1854 Napoli’ within 2 small panels, regulation gilt brass hilt, folding side guard missing, chiselled with crowned fouled anchor, panels of foliage, lion’s head pommel, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its leather scabbard with gilt copper mounts each chased with foliage and comprising locket with applied gilt copper badge with ‘V. Labruna in Napoli’ in relief, suspension ring missing, hanging band with suspension ring, and chape. Blade length 76.5cms. Good Condition, blade retains most original mirror polish overall with small areas of light pitting mostly to pipe back, hilt and scabbard mounts retain nearly all their original fire gilding.

Indian Matchlock Gun Torador, barrel probably 18th century chiselled in low relief for its entire length with a repeated design of flower heads and leaves, and further heightened with gold koftgari decoration, swollen breech and muzzle both with gold koftgari flowering foliage, swivel pan cover, polished steel trigger, match holder and ramrod, later wooden fullstock. Burnished silver quoit mounted with an elephant standing on a scroll inscribed 'Assaye'. Reverse with stout pin. VGC Worn in undress by 74th Officers and by Senior NCO's in full dress; it continued in use by 2nd Bn HLI through the 1881 Territorial reorganisation until 1886.
