There appear to be no visible impact damage to any part of the item, nor any visible sign of earlier repair. The approximate diameter of the centre stone is 3.06mm.

All stones are securely set and unmarked. No obvious signs of chips or cracks to any stone. The settings are secure. No missing claws. Overall no obvious sign of previous damage or repair. The centre aquamarine stone measures approximately 14mm x 11mm. Due to the nature of the gallery it is not possible to measure the depth of the stone. Evidence in a raking light of gilt (?) decoration, now worn away. Body - body appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration. There is a firing crack around the inner foot ring, measuring approximately 4.5cm. Again there is evidence of missing gilt detail - scrolling tendrils and leaves - to the body.

The watch is in condition commensurate with age and moderate usage, showing light marks in general, the dial appears to be in good condition showing a patination of age, the glass is in need of replacement (may polish out), the watch sets and winds but does not run, the button screws back correctly and firmly, the leather strap is Rolex but the buckle is not.

The watch sets but does not run (battery?). Overall length approximately 200mm with the clasp closed.

Fredericks (Chelsea) Ltd, 256-267 Fulham Road, London SW3 - Purchased 5th February 1957Condition ReportSome light scattered scratching to the whole and some uneven fading to the front. Slight shrinkage to the veneer commensurate with age. To the left hand side of the top there is a small area of repair around 2ins diameter and to the top left hand side there is a small area of repair around 1ins diameter. The moulding on the top of the base on the right hand side has a small area of shrinkage running diagonally around 1ins long. To the front left hand edge of the base there is a small area of shrinkage running horizontally around 2ins long. The carved frieze on the right hand side, the moulding is slightly loose but present. All the drawers run free and easily with minimal resistance. The key is present and the locking mechanisms work. To the left hand side of the base there is a line of dark staining running vertically from one end to the other. There are two shrinkage splits, the first from the base running vertically around 7ins long, and there is a dark impression running horizontally from around the centre on the left hand side around 10ins long. General wear to the feet commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints.

There are a few small holes, particularly to the right edge. Some very light creasing. This print appears to have been reduced in size.

Series of small holes to the right margin. At least four pin prick sized holes just above centre, and a small 1mm diameter hole close to lower left corner. Trimmed. Upper left corner with paper repair. Edges uneven. Seated Geisha - area of thinning to paper on right margin. One pin prick sized hole to lower border. Both with some light discolouration.

Traditional Japanese stitched stab binding. Printed card covers, discoloured, worn. 33 leaves, 14 illustrations, including several inset within the text. Fragile, some staining, wear, binding firm. Chushingura Text. With full page ukiyo-e woodblock colour print to front. (18.5 x 12cm). 15 leaves of calligraphic woodblock text. Paper covers. Stitch binding. Late C18th, early C19th. The Chūshingura is any fictionalised account of the story of the Forty-seven Rōnin, or the Treasury of Loyal Retainers, dating to the historical 1702 Akō incident, which saw the death by seppuku of 46 rōnin. Light wear, an unmarked copy, binding firm. Pure Land Buddhism. A 19th C. Japanese woodblock print book, illustrations of Gods, Monks and Demons. Traditional Japanese stitched stab binding. 3rd printing, Meiji 26th year, Tokyo 1894. (16 x 11.5cm). Thin paper covers, somewhat fragile and worn. 50 leaves of woodblock printed Japanese calligraphic script, with 9 full page woodblock illustrations. internally very good, bar some minor staining.
