THE AMMUNITION CAN ONLY BE HANDED OVER FACE TO FACE AND CANNOT BE POSTED. 105cm long The rifle is in pleasing overall condition with some light overall wear and patina. The bore has some light pitting throughout however a reasonable rifling pattern remains. The action works correctly and positively. The bluing has worn throughout and whilst there are traces of original blue all over, the metal finish has largely turned to a plum / grey brown. There are some very light minor dents around the action cover area next to the retailer address. The screwheads all show signs of being worked and some time spent improving the slots of all the heads would certainly improve the look of the gun. There appear to have been some alteration to the exposed end of an internal screw on the lower tang which can be seen to the right of the serial number, there are some light file marks here, see image 17 online.There has been a re-stuck section of wood at the bottom toe of the stock see image 16. There is also a small chip to the top corner of the stock where it meets the action on the left hand side as can be seen in image 15. There is a faint hairline to the front of the forend however the wood looks stable here, see image 10 online. The wood is a little dry and lacking in patina or finish around the wrist of the stock, the woodwork otherwise has a nice finish or lustre to it.

Krico .22lr bolt action stuzen rifle, serial number 370622, 19inch barrel screw cut for a moderator, German proof marks, double set triggers, full length stock carved with a cheek piece and fitted with a leather sling. Topped with an unmarked fixed power telescope.UK FIREARMS LICENCE WITH .22 RIFLE VARIATION OR RFD REQUIRED. 97cm long. The rifle is in good general order showing signs of moderate use. The bore is clean, and bright and does not show any signs of damage, the rifling pattern shows very light signs of wear. The action works correctly. The magazine floor plate has an annoying tendency of sliding off although the insides of the magazine do not spring out. The stock has some dents, scratches and marks, but it is free from splits or repairs. The scope presents a reasonably clear image which has a slight yellow tinge to it, the lenses are free from scratches and damages, the reticule is of the German style.
Volunteer MkIII .577 Snider rifle said to have been Frederic Greener's personal rifle, 39inch barrel secured by three bands, with three groove rifling fitted with barleycorn front sight with clip-on spring steel cover and folding ladder rear sight with clip on cover stamped 'Snider' with RD mark, the MkIII breech with Birmingham proof marks, crowned AS inspection stamps and Snider's Patent arrow cipher, plain double line border engraved lock with traces of colour case harden, the stock unusually chequered with fine interlacing panels and fitted with brass furniture.The Vendor bought this rifle from Greenjacket antiques who supplied the following information with the rifle.Provenance: The following information was kindly supplied by Mr Graham Greener of W.W. Greener Frederic Greener (1872 - 1949) Frederic Greener was the youngest of W W Greener's sons to become involved with gunmaking. Like his elder brother William Oliver he was not really interested in guns; but like his brothers before him he completed his apprenticeship in the factory and worked alongside the other craftsmen. One of Fred's passions was chemistry and he spent many years blacking and browning gun barrels to obtain the very fine figures in damascus barrels and the deep blue-black sheen of properly blacked steel barrels. He became an accomplished chemist and during a varied career he invented synthetic 'Rosin' a resin which was cast into egg shaped pieces and used on the bows of violins. This was as a result of another of his interests - he was an accomplished musician. Like his brother Harry he was also an inventor and patented several inventions relating to guns. His first was for an adaptor for miniature rifle ammunition 1904 and this was followed by two more patents in 1905 the first for a safety device and the second for the 'Nomisguard'. This device slid over the end of the barrels of a double gun to provide protection from hot barrels during rapid shooting. It had two 'ears' one on either side of each barrel designed to concentrate the shooter's aim for bird shooting. In 1907 he invented an offset barrel conversion which enabled rim fire ammunition to be used in a centre fire rifle. His last invention involving guns came in 1909 for a folding rear sight for rifles. Fred was a keen shot and represented his country on several occasions. In W W Greener's book The British Miniature Rifle published in 1908 there is a picture showing the target with ten shots made by Fred Greener at the International match between England and Australia in 1907. Fred also won the Daily Mirror Championship Cup in 1907 - both matches were won with W W Greener rifles of course! In the early 1890s cycling became very fashionable and Fred became a keen cyclist so his father eventually set him up with his own bicycle business. This was carried on in Edmund Street quite near to the W W Greener factory so that Fred could take advantage of the various machines and workshops to make the parts required for bicycle manufacture. Fred did not make bicycles for very long and soon returned St Mary's Row to work for his father again. He continued at the factory for many years being associated with the various improvements to rifles and rifle sights working closely with Harry Greener on these inventions. He died in 1949 after a short illness. This Snider target rifle originally belonged to Fred and although it was not made in the Greener factory it was chequered by Fred and used by him in target shooting competitions. The bore is is mint without fault or pitting. There is some very light speckling that can be seen around the breech block and chamber area. The lock works correctly with a strong spring, there is some very light speckling that can be seen within the colour case hardening. The metal finish is good and largely still all present, starting to fade in small areas. The cleaning rod is possibly a replacement as it carries an engraved military unit mark which you wouldn't expect to see on a privately owned firearm.

The rear sight has been removed in order to make way for the tang mounted sight. The engraving to the action is a little light in places due to the refinish. The action works with a reasonable lock up, the saftey catch however does not function. The stock is free from splits or repairs. It has been treated with tru oil which is a little thick in places. There are some dents to the edge of the butt plate and one of the butt plate screws has been replaced.

There is the odd spot dotted around through the rest of the bore. Aside from this, the rifling looks reasonably crisp and in good general state. A good scrub out with a wire brush could probably improve the state of the bore considerably. The action appears to function correctly with a good lock-up. The blued metal finish has the odd scratch and light mark, there is one small surface corrosion spot to the barrel just ahead of the rear sight. The woodwork has some scratches and light dents, there is a short split emanating out from the trigger guard tang area. The scope has some scratches and marks to the finish. The ocular lens is loose.

The crown is in good order. The action works with a strong positive sounding mainspring and lock up. The metal finish is good with some scruffs, light scratches, and minor wear. The stock is free from splits or repairs. The forend has a spliced in repair to the edge where it meets the barrel. Some screw heads are chewed from being worked. The foresight has been adapted with some crude filing and rebluing, the scope rail shows signs of adaption and is probably not totally original. The scope presents a useable picture but is very slightly cloudy. The lenses look free from damage but there is some light fogging that can be seen behind the glass. The scope shows signs of being taken apart and reassembled.

They are in proof and measure to the 15.7 and 15.9 reproof stamps. The walls measure a minimum of .27 right and .26 left. There is 20 thousands of an inch choke within the right barrel and 7 thousands of an inch within the left barrel. The bores are generally clean and free from pitting, there are just three minor pitting marks that can be seen in the right tube.. The browning to the barrels is in average order with some wear and light scratches. The barrels are on face and tight on the action with no wobble with the forend removed. The actions function correctly with strong springs. There is scattered pitting marks that can be seen throughout the action and metalwork. The stock has been made of two pieces, this is typically seen in Military guns but not shotguns. It is not certain if this is a later repair or how the gun was made originally. There are some filled areas where dowels of wood and patches have been let in. These can be seen beside the upper tang, the buttplate tang, and behind the escutcheon. There are some scratches and dents from use but nothing defacing.

The bore has a crisp rifling pattern but there is some pitting within the grooves where they run up next to the lands. The cylinder is polished bright and has some scattered pitting marks. Four of the five nipples move with the wrench, one does not, but it looks like with soaking it might free up. The action works correctly and positively with good timing and excellent lock up. There are some scrape marks to the finish on the frame around the heads of some of the screws from an oversized screwdriver being used. The accessories are in good general condition with slight wear marks and very light pitting to some of the steel parts. The screwdriver blade has a slight twist to it from over exersion. The powder flask has some dents and is covered in light speckled corrosion. The case show signs of age and use but is structurally sound. There are lots of dents marks and stains. There is a chip to one lower corner and a split to one underside board. The linings internally have some sections which wobble but are still affixed in place. There is no key for the lock.

The blacking to the barrel and action is in good order with only minimal wear, there is some light surface speckling that can be seen on both the polished and blued parts of the action. The action functions correctly with snap caps. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there are minor scratches and dents from use but nothing defacing.

Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.98cm long The bore of the rifle has sharp rifling, there is some light pitting just ahead of the chamber of the rifle as well as other very small scattered marks, but in general the bore is better than the exterior of the gun would portray. There are two holes drilled to the barrel ahead of the forend, these do not show through to the bore and one of them is threaded possibly for a sling swivel. The rear sight is replaced as are the two screws which hold the forend on, there is some grinding marks to the exposed bolts ahead of the trigger. The action works correctly with a strong spring. The metalwork has some overall pitting.

The bores are both rifled throughout, there is some light pitting patches scattered around but non of this is too heavy. The barrels are free from dents. The barrels are on-face and there is no wobble between barrels and action with the forend removed. The actions both work correctly and positively. There is some light peppering that can be seen to the polished areas of the metalwork. The forend barrel wedge is loose and slides freely out with gravity. The silver escutchon surrounding the wedge has been damaged and repaired. The forend has some chipping to the edges at the thinnest part where it meets the barrels. there is a spliced in repair in this area on the right-hand side. There is a split in the pistol grip, possibly caused by the screw which retains the boss. This can be seen by enlarging the main image of the gun. There is a split to the stock just ahead of the trigger guard tang. The woodwork has a dark overall refinish, whilst no more obvious repairs can be seen, this dark finish might be covering something. The trigger guard has been polished and lost most of its engraving and serial number.

The original horn trigger guard has been replaced with a well-made aluminum replacement. The .22 barrel is a liner that has been fitted, the British proof marks being stamped over the original markings. The .22 barrel has a reasonably crisp rifling pattern without any signs of fault. The 16 bore barrel has few light pitting marks scattered within the last third of the tube. The barrels are free from dents. The action appears to function with snap caps correctly, the firing pins work however the cocking indicators are not present. The stock is free from splits or repairs. There is some wear and the chequering is low in places as well as some scratches and dents. The scope shows lots of signs of wear. The picture is usable but not as bright as would be ideal. There is a patch of scratching to the objective lens.
Remington 1858 New Model Army .44 percussion revolver, serial number 117137, 7.5 inch sighted octagonal barrel with additional cut presumably for a rear sight, the grips with later chequering. Photo ID will be required if the lot is to be posted out.35cm long The gun is part of the way through a restoration process and requires more work for it to function correctly again. The mainspring isn't connecting properly with the hammer and consequently, when the hammer is pulled back, it will not fly forward when the trigger is pressed and instead needs to be returned under finger pressure. The cylinder rotates correctly and locks up as it should. The cylinder has some pitting throughout, there are some small scattered spots of pitting dotted around. Most of the frame has been polished up, the delicate Remington roll marks from the top of the barrel have been lost in this process. There is also a slot cut into the barrel where someone has fitted a rear sight. There is some light fresh surface corrosion dotted around. The bore has some pitting throughout.

The barrels ring when tapped and there are no dents visible but there are signs of several dents to both tubes that have been raised. There is some rivelling that can be seen towards the chokes. The barrels are in proof and measure at: .737 right and .736 left against a proof stamp of .729. The walls measure a minimum of .29 right and .30 left. The bores are clean there are some very tiny light shadows of pitting spot dotted around. The blacking to the barrels has worn considerably down to a light plum brown colour. The barrels are on face and tight on the action with no wobble with the forend removed.The actions function with snap caps however the right barrel is not ejecting. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there are occasional scratches and dents from use but nothing defacing.

There are some light handling and usage marks such as some surface scratches, a very small dent to the corner edge of the rail under the barrel for which the forend attaches to. There is some extremely light surface corrosion on the metal ring that connects the cylinder and to one of the cross pins of the mechanism. This however is very minor and would clean up with ease. The scope adjusts correctly and presents a reasonable picture. There are no scratches or damages to the lenses.

There is some light corrosion around the threads of the moderator and corresponding area of the barrel. The .17 HMR barrel is in very good order with a crisp rifling pattern and little signs of wear. The bolt requires a good clean but is in good condition and the action works correctly. The stock has some very light usage marks but is free from splits or repairs or serious damage. The scope has some finish wear and scuffs, works correctly although the zoom band is stiff to turn, the lenses are free from scratches or damages, the picture presented when sighted through is a bit grainy and not as clear as it should be.
