An Indian Armoured Shirt of Mail and Plate, 17th Century or Earlier, comprising 2 large rectangular front plates each with 3 spade-shaped buckles, one engraved with an inscription on the front (the owner’s name?) and on the inside with a long deeply engraved inscription in Devanagri stating that this shirt was taken at the battle of Adoni in 1689 by Anup Singh, the Maharaja of Bikaner and a general in the mughal Emperor Aurangzeb’s army, when the Adil-shahi Dynasty of Bikaner finally fell, and subsequently taken as booty to Bikaner. Two pairs of kidney plates, the back comprising 3 vertical rows of lamellae, the central row having scalloped edges. The mail comprising alternate rows of solid and riveted links including some struck with inscriptions, thick rings on the chest, and thinner ones for the long sleeves and skirt. The shirt is covered with light rust, and would benefit from sensitive cleaning; generally good condition.

A Rookwood Pottery Grace Young Native American Indian vase, with impressed marks to base. Height 22 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The vase is in extremely good condition with no significant damage, no repairs and no restoration. The only crazing that is visible is under a very bright light. In natural light the crazing is barely visible. There are some minor surface scratches to the rear of the vase but really the condition is first class.
A Moorcroft vase, of baluster form, relief moulded, impressed "Moorcroft, Made in England" and with green "WM" initials. Height 26 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This vase is first quality. There is a semi circular glaze crack to the base running through the initials across the base of the vase to the edge. This is only visible under strong light. It is only a glaze crack and not a crack to the body of the vase which is otherwise in first class condition.
A 9 ct gold cased gentleman's wristwatch, J.W. Benson, London, champagne dial, Arabic numerals and plated expanding bracelet, circa 1967, boxed. CONDITION REPORT: The watch winds and is ticking away and appears to be keeping good time. There are numerous small surface scratches to the watch glass which are visible in strong light. None of these are particularly problematic. The gold case is in good condition with only minor surface scratches. The bracelet is in reasonably good order but is beginning to lose some of its plated surface. The back of the watch has some minor dents. We have been unable to remove the back plate to look at the movement.
A quantity of Shelley Mabel Lucie Attwell tea ware, comprising 4 mugs, 5 saucers, 11 plates and 3 larger plates. CONDITION REPORT: One saucer is discoloured and has a 3 inch hairline crack. Three of the plates are also discoloured and have significant hairline cracks. All other pieces are in generally good order with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The pieces are not mint and have clearly been used. There are light scratches to all of the pieces and minor paint losses. There are no significant issues however.
A Vaseline glass light shade, circa 1920, impressed "Jefferson". Diameter 36 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This shade is in generally very good condition. There are no cracks, no repairs and no restoration. There are minor nibbles around the holes on the inside edge of the shade where the brass light fitting supports are fixed. These are minimal and not problematic. There are one or two small surface scratches to the underside edge of the bowl but no real issues to the glasswork. The metal chain supports and mask mounts have all lost approximately 50% of their original gilding.
A Victorian mahogany armchair, with simple moulded exposed showframe, upholstered in deep buttoned blue velvet and raised on front cabriole legs terminating in castors (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This chair is structurally very sound with no loose joints. There are no breaks to the back or the legs, the castors are firm and original. The upholstery is generally good and serviceable as is the springing. The only minor issue is that some of the braiding is loose. The mahogany would benefit from a light wax and then the chair could be used in its current state.
A pair of Queen Anne style mahogany and upholstered armchairs, upholstered in pale blue foliate patterned material and raised on foliate carved front cabriole legs (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Width across arms 78 cm, height to top of back 92 cm, height to top of leg 27 cm. These chairs are in generally good order and could be used in their current condition without the need for any repairs or restoration. The upholstery is generally fairly clean but being of a light colour there is some minor discolouration to the top rail and tops of the arms but this is really minor. The legs are all in good order with no structural damage. All eight legs are however slightly loose and there is some movement if each leg is grasped and moved from side to side. In an ideal world they should be tightened but, as stated, the chairs are perfectly serviceable in their current state.
A Moorcroft Flambe globular vase, small form, with paper label "By Appointment Potter to The Late Queen Mary". Height 94 mm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are no repairs and no restoration. There is however a small hairline crack running from the top of the lip into the body of the vase for approximately 1.5 cm. This is visible from both sides. There is a further hairline crack across the bottom edge of the foot rim it then runs into the recess for about 2 cm and back up over the foot rim. The piece has not been off but the crack is visible. The glaze is generally in good order with some surface crazing when viewed with a loop under light.
A small Moorcroft bowl, with green/blue ground and bearing paper label "By Appointment, W. Moorcroft Potter to The Late Queen Mary". Height 8 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Very good condition with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The glaze is crisp and clean and there is only very minor crazing evident when viewed under very bright light.
