An early 18th century walnut side chair, with marquetry inlay to the legs and with balloon back. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally sound. The legs are firmly attached to the frame. There is plenty of wear to the legs in terms of colour loss, scratches and distressing in line with age. It is upholstered with a light blue fabric which is stained in many places. The seat however and back are both well upholstered with good tension and stability.
An Art Deco Royal Winton tea set, with foliate handles and yellow glaze. CONDITION REPORT: There are hairline cracks to one saucer in the base with each crack at least 1" long. There is sustained and wide spread crazing to many dishes, plates and tea cups in this service, both in the yellow glazes and on the bases. There is some staining to the tea cups and light hairline cracks to one or two of the bases of the cups.
William Plumptre (born 1959), a studio pottery vase, with narrow top and shallow neck and ovoid body, with both impressed and script marks and blue and green coloured glaze. Height 39 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This vase has areas of ingrained dirt to its shoulders, the rim and the base. There are one or two areas of wear that are significant to the underside of the base. This vase is structurally sound with no cracks or hairline cracks, there is some light crazing in areas the glaze.
A silver oil lamp base with cut glass reservoir, with electric light fitting above. London hallmark 1901. Height to top of column 33 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Neither the base or the reservoir is drilled. The light fitting attaches to the underside of the burner. There do not appear to be any cracks to the reservoir and the column itself is also in very good order, simply extremely dirty. The hallmarks are clear with no significant rubbing.
A Chinese cloisonne table lamp base. Height including light fitting 28 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The lamp base is in reasonably good condition but it does have some surface blemishes as is often the case. One of the shields has had some painted repair and is a little rough to touch. At the widest part of the base there are also some losses and small dents which can be felt with finger ends. The height excluding the light fitting is 19.5 cm and the maximum diameter +/- 13.5 cm. The piece requires rewiring.
A 19th century Chinese polychrome ginger jar, with concentric ring mark to base. Height 12 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are no hairline cracks or cracks to the body of the jar. There is some ingrained dirt to the rim and base and a light spread of pitted discolouration with moisture under the glaze, otherwise condition is fine .
A Middle Eastern robe and waistcoat, with gold coloured threads. CONDITION REPORT: We would describe the size as fitting an average male. Some areas of wear to the fabric at the front but predominately on the back. Significant light damage to the material across the shoulders where it has been hung, therefore areas of the fabric are discoloured.
