French Smallsword c.1760 with Russet Gilt Hilt, colichemarde blade with traces of etched decoration, iron hilt chiselled with trophies of arms and foliage, pierced iron pommel (probably a contemporary replacement), grip bound with twisted silver gilt wire and tape. Overall 95cms, blade 79cms. Good condition, well worn and with light rust overall.
British Regimentally Marked 1788 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword, regulation blade (reduced in length) cut with 2 fullers and etched with crowned GR, Wooley & Co. Birm.m. 1795, the reverse etched with crowned Q.s O. 7 LD (7th Queens Own Light Dragoons), regulation iron stirrup hilt, wooden grip, in its iron scabbard engraved WOOLEY &Co. BIRMm, and with rack number C4. Overall 79cms, blade 66cms. Fair condition, hilt and scabbard with cleaned heavy pitting, grip age cracked and with leather covering missing.
WW1 British War Medal Kings Shropshire Light Infantry and 1st Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers Killed in Action 4th September 1918, awarded to “25575 PTE J. H. GALLAGHER K.S.L.I.” Complete with ribbon and remains in good condition. John Henry Gallagher was born in Clare, Ireland and was a resident of Oakham, Rutland when he enlisted into the K.S.L.I. Transferring to the Royal Dublin Fusiliers, service number 43166, 40 year old John Gallagher was killed in action on 4th September 1918 whilst serving with 1st Battalion R.D.F. Buried in Trois Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck, France. Also entitled to a Victory medal. Recorded on commonwealth war graves as Gallaher.
5th Volunteer Battalion Kings Liverpool Regiment Officers Cross Belt Plate, fine example of crowned Maltese cross with central crowned light infantry bugle, lower scroll with regimental details all within a laurel wreath. Complete with the Hobson & Sons maker marked backing plate. Four screw post fittings to the reverse.
Post 1902 Officers Home Service Helmet of the York & Lancaster Regiment, fine blue cloth covered cork helmet with gilt metal kings crown officers home service pattern helmet plate to the centre. Velvet backed linked chinstrap with gilt rosette side bosses. Cruciform spike base with rosette fittings and removable fluted officers spike. Interior with leather sweatband and crimson lining. Interior shows some wear. Some light areas of mothing to the blue cloth covering but generally still a good example.
Scarce WW1 French Colonial Bandsmen “Spotter’s” Forage Cap, Interesting light brown wool French forage cap with gilt metal anchor insignia on red cloth backing with small embroidered yellow circle above. Brown piping to the curtain of the cap and patterned inverted chevron to the centre. No lining or sweatband to the interior. Couple of moth nips but otherwise a good example.
Scarce WW1 Officers Cuff Rank Tunic of the Cambridge University OTC Cavalry, grey wool four pocket tunic with Lieutenants cuff rank to both sleeves. White metal Cambridge University OTC tunic buttons and linked scales to the shoulders. Interior with paper label of Samuel Brothers Ltd and original owners name “G Kirkbride”. Some light service wear and some moth damage to the interior and reverse but otherwise a good example of a scarce WW1 tunic.
Victorian 2nd Renfrewshire Rifle Volunteers Helmet Plate, fine example white metal other ranks example with Prince of Wales plumes to the centre. Complete with three lug fittings to the reverse. Accompanied by a brass other ranks helmet plate for the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry with two lug fittings to the reverse. (2 items)
British Essex Yeomanry / Royal Artillery Leather Jerkin, fine light tan leather jerkin with the top button being that of the Essex Yeomanry and the others for the Royal Artillery. No lining or labels to the interior. Some light fading and scuffing to the leather but otherwise good condition.
WW2 German Luftwaffe M-35 Double Decal Steel Combat Helmet, untouched example still retaining much of the early light blue paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Helmet is complete with approximately 70% of its early droop tail pattern Luftwaffe helmet decal and about 30% of the national tri-colour decal. Interior of the helmet retains its original brown leather liner. Shell is stamped “ET64” and “4118”. Overall this is a good untouched example of an early double decal steel combat helmet.
