Some fading/losses to the staining. A couple of minute speck inclusions. A few fine stress lines from the mould – but this is how it was made.Vase: There are a number of chips and nicks to the neck rim. A few minute pin prick abrasions on the side and some light wear. Wear to the underside of the base.

A French ormolu and Sevres clock garniture: the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell with an outside countwheel and stamped L 928, the blue porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals and floral decoration, with gilt-brass hands, the ormolu case with applied decorative mounts, caryatids to the four bases and surmounted by an urn, with a blue porcelain panel to the front, complete with a pair of matching five-light candleabra, height 42cm clock, 44cm candleabra.

Jones & Son, Merthyr, an oak and mahogany longcase clock: the thirty-hour duration movement striking the hours on a gong, the twelve-inch painted break-arch dial having black Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, with painted floral decoration to the four corners and church ruins within the arch, with gilt-brass hands, the oak case with turned ebonised columns to the trunk and hood, mahogany crossbanding and a swan-neck pediment, height 208cm.* Biography David Jones, born circa 1760, is recorded as working in Merthyr Tydfil from 1816 and invented a 'night watch' in about 1828 with a light going out at 11 o'clock when 'all people should be in their houses'.
