Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18 and photo ID will be required before the lot can be posted out. 146cm overall length. The gun is in reasonable condition and has the looks of a gun that has been recently held on licence and used. It is however sold as a Section 58(2) antique which does not require a licence. There are signs of refinishing work and wear. The bore is in fair order but it has a few scattered pitting spots. The barrel has been rebrowned, and the engraving has possibly been refreshed. There is a gap between the barrel and the false breech. The engraving seems to match up on both pieces and it is not thought to be a marriage between to separate guns. The gap can only be assumed to be a result of age, usage and changes in the wood stock. One ramrod pipe has been resoldered back into position, the ramrod is a replacement. The action cocks and releases with a strong spring, the lock has been reblued leaving some of the engraving fainter than it could be. The metalwork generally has some pitting and surface corrosion as well as some wear from a previous attempt to clean the gun up.
