BLANCHARD’S EGYPTIAN MUSEUM, an Egyptian scarab on an onyx base, the underside with a label from Blanchards Museum Cairo which states ‘Heart Scarab, Period XXI-XXII Dynasty’, and with label to the side ‘R892’, overall length 6cm. Sold with a copy of a letter from The British Museum dated 8th January 1973. (2)Additional InformationThe date of the scarab is unknown. General light wear tot he scarab and the base. The label is believed to be original. The letter does not confirm the age of the scarab but does state that Blanchard had a large collection of scarabs which were dispersed after his death.

Where the pierced heart shaped motifs are at the edge, all three have split to the rim, underneath one of the swept handles there is a tiny area of damage to the edge but these faults are being ultra critical.

The minute hand is slightly bent forward away from the dial. No restoration or damage to the dial. There is a minute chip to the glass. the clock ticks when wound and adjusts correctly. There is some fraying and deterioration to both the inside and outside of the case.

Some dark toning to the pewter. The lid closes correctly. There is just a tiny compressed area to the rear hinge which has slightly torn the lid but this is being ultra critical. A few small dents.

The tray has light surface wear and scratches, slightly bent, heavy surface wear to the underside. The vase is slightly wobbly, light scratches and surface wear, minor denting to the underside or the rim.

Additional InformationThere is an area of sprayed restoration to the inside of the rim, however this does appear to only be on the inside, rather than the outside. You can also feel a small rough area underneath the rim where it meets the body of the vase, and there are a couple of light surface scratches, and crazing throughout.
DAISY MAKEIG-JONES FOR WEDGWOOD; a ginger jar and cover of shouldered form, decorated with fairies and a castle scene, pattern number Z4968, height 25cm.Additional InformationLight wear to the gilding, minor scratches and scuffs, light crazing to the jar and cover, there is very tight hairline/craze line crack to the cover, difficult to see, otherwise good.
A Della Robbia inspired floral painted bowl, inscribed 'God Save the King', with painted monogrammed initials and further mark to the base, diameter 19cm, and a Minton secessionist twin handled soap dish and strainer, diameter 20cm (2)Additional InformationThe Minton soap dish drainer is badly cracked and crazed. The bowl itself is crazed and also has a hairline crack to the rim. The other bowl has some unusual pitting marks underneath the rim, which is also rather rough in patches, and some light crazing throughout.
A large Chinese 19th century Canton Famille Rose enamel painted baluster vase with twin pierced handles, the main body decorated with figures, butterflies and birds in landscape, unmarked, height 59cm.Additional InformationSome pitting to the surface a little bit of surface wear and light scratches. There are a couple of star cracks but these are just in the glaze rather than the body of the vase. Overall in good condition.
