A 1950s Synchronome Electric Master Clock Removed from Brown Brothers Ltd. Guildford offices, this wall clock possesses an Invar pendulum and electric movement, housed in a light-coloured mahogany case. On test it proved to be in working order. 49-inches high, 13-inches wide.

A Sabino Mocking Bird Mascot Mounted on a brass and chromium-plated illumination base, (light fitting missing) the genus of the bird is not clear, but probably a Northern Mocking Bird which can be found in France. The Vaseline glass is in perfect condition, the foot cannot be seen, however. The mascot 5-inches (13cms) high

An Ordinary Bicycle Hub Lamp Manufactured in the style of a Joseph Lucas & Son oil-powered 'Popular' lamp, a very well-crafted reproduction made to exacting standards. Dated 2002, and numbered 6 of only 10 made. The lamp is complete with centralizing antenna, hub adjuster, reservoir and winding burner, red rear light and correct venting. Ready to use.

Lot 367

Four Open-Fronted Acetylene Gas Lamps of mainly French manufacture, the lamps represent a style and robustness that was popular in the early years of the 20th century. Because of the pressure of gas, the requirement for a front glass was not deemed necessary, particularly as the brightness of the light emitted was restricted by trying to focus it. In essentially complete condition, they make an interesting addition to the bicycle lamp oeuvre. The tallest 8½-inches (22cm). (4)

Lot 371

A c1895 George Polkey 'The Little Fire Ball' Oil Lamp Patented in 1892 and manufactured until 1905, a unique design that attempted to produce a light that would not be extinguished by wind or draft, the flame completely enclosed by glass. In fair condition, the original glass shade has cracked, and the yoke tightener is missing, otherwise sound, 5-inches (13cm) high. Also, a German made lamp with similar principles in mind, a 'Feuerhand Superbaby 175', being a combination hand lantern and bicycle lamp, with a side lever to raise the glass shade for lighting. ECL 65. (2)

Lot 376

A Bridport Brass Co. 'Search Light' Kerosene Burning Lamp An 1897 third model lamp which was offered between 1897 and 1914, the latter years to clear stock. The most famous of the type with heavily embossed brass work, central draft air flow, two double-convex glasses and sliding side glasses to allow lighting. In sound condition, part of the rear bracket is missing. ECL 63 & 72. 5¼-inches (13cm) high.

Lot 378

Gormully & Jeffery Mfg. Co. 'Brilliant' Safety Bicycle Lamp Dating circa 1892, an unorthodox suspension lamp from this Chicago manufacturer, retaining its original reflector, reservoir, star cut front glass and coil spring suspension. The lamp is complete with some original nickel-plating and black enamel, and will respond to light refurbishment. ECL 57
