Beautiful oil on canvas by Polish artist Giza Kwiecien who paints Summer Flowers as an abstracted microcosm with glorious colors to create a 'magical world filled with feelings of joy and serenity.' Round bowl decorated with vertical grooves around the body and a faint iridescent finish. The shine of pink, blue, green, yellow, and purple can be seen in the light. Boer War Interest South African Horn Corkscrew, carved to the horn handle ‘7965 G Co R.C.R 1899’ to the edge is carved ‘597 2nd C.M.R 1900’. Steel corkscrew with some surface rusting, light cracking to the horn but generally good example. This corkscrew was fashioned by Canadian trooper, John A McLeod who volunteered to fight in the Boer War, first serving with the Royal Canadian Regiment in 1899 until invalided home in March 1900. He then re-enlisted and was sent back to South Africa in January 1902 with the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles.

The print shows Innes posing with a long-nosed golf club over his right shoulder whilst holding a glove and 'Feathery' golf ball in his left hand. The caddie behind has a hand full of golf clubs with a bottle of alcohol in his pocket. There is a windmill in the distance. A high-quality leather-bound, hardback book with gold titling and page-edging. Contains details of locations on the island plus rail and sea timetables, excursions etc and a fold-out railway map. We have not seen this before. Measures 6" x 9" (15cm x 23cm) and is in very good condition with light wear to the cover. [1]

c1928/9 London Underground linen-card POCKET MAP from the Stingemore-designed series of 1925-32. This is one of the two first issues of the larger, second series and is the one with the yellow cover. These were issued before any of the early 1930s line extensions were projected. Some light staining to the cover but the map side is generally very good with a light crease in the left panel that is more evident in the image than to the naked eye. [1]
WW2 London Underground double-royal-size POSTER "To-day: Evacuation of children.....Underground services are generally reserved for the evacuation....". Undated but likely to be for the 1 September 1939 'Operation Pied Piper' whereby a mass evacuation of children took place just two days before the start of the War. Bears a pencilled note at the foot "All Stns except District Line Stns Mansion House & east thereof". Has been professionally framed and glazed. Some light creasing and small holes towards the top edge. Most unusual, the first example we have seen. [1]
