Soutache trim around cap body with loose stitching. Size ca. 53 ½ cm. St. Cyr Cavalry School cap body in red tricot wool with three strands of gilt soutache piping around the circumference, extending vertically at each side, at top a single strand gilt soutache Hungarian knot within a circular soutache piped border, light-blue cloth cap band with gilt metal "2" cypher insignia centered to front band, gilt-wire tape chinstrap secured by two smooth-finish brass buttons. Stirnseitig das schwarze Emblem der leichten Infanterie mit Horn und Schleife, darüber eine Rosette aus schwarzer Schnur und ein eingesteckter rot-schwarzer Haarstutz. Geflochtene schwarze Fangschnur mit zapfenförmigen Abschlüssen, seitlich eingehängt an schwarzen Haken mit Distelornament. Ockerfarbenes Lederschweißband mit violettem Seidenfutter (Risse), innen die goldene Herstellerbezeichnung "Hawkes & Co. London". Schwarzer Leder-Kinnriemen (gerissen).
