WWI pair to Pte G Reese 17866 Somerset Light Infantry, together with a battered silver cigarette case hallmarked 1925 and monogrammed GR The vendor`s uncle survived WWI and became a corn merchant where he was lodging in Cardiff during the 1941 blitz. After the Air Raid siren sounded, Mr Reese and his landlady made their way to the air raid shelter. The landlady realised she had left her pet parrot behind and Mr Reese returned to the house to collect it. Tragically the house took a direct hit and was totally destroyed, the cigarette case was found in Mr Reese`s pocket
