A pair of French mid 18th century all steel cannon barrelled flintlock boxlock pocket pistols, 6½” overall, turn off barrels 1¾”, with octagonal breeches, one of which is engraved “No 1”, the frames engraved “J G Dachtine/ A. Aixlachapelle”, and with sliding trigger guard safeties with internal extensions to secure the frizzens, and plain steel slab butts each pierced with barrel key for unscrewing the barrel of the other pistol. Good Working Order and Condition (slightly worn overall with light pitting commensurate with age, trigger guard safeties seized or very stiff). Plate 15
Items relating to Lindbergh’s first solo crossing of the Atlantic, 1927, comprising: folding menu printed in black and yellow for “Luncheon offered by the American Club of Paris to Capt Charles A. Lindbergh at the Hotel Ambassador on May 24th 1927” including “Bombe glacée Lindbergh”, with top of the globe and details of flight route, on the front is a lithograph of Lindbergh’s plane Spirit of St Louis, the Eiffel Tower and searchlights and on the back the plane flying over the Atlantic; a small card with autograph of “Charles A Lindbergh”; an etching of the plane in a blaze of light; 2 etchings of French walled towns; all the artwork is signed by the artist A.C.Webb. A 10 bore India pattern Brown Bess flintlock musket, 55” overall, barrel 39” with Tower proofs and stamped “322” at breech, rounded lock with swan neck cock and stamped with crowned “GR” and “Tower” and with ordnance inspector’s mark, walnut fullstock, the butt bearing ordnance storekeeper’s mark (1800?), device over “P.L.D” in circle, and number “32087”, with regulation brass mounts, lower sling swivel only, and replacement ramrod. Good Working Order and Condition (light pitting and staining to lock and barrel, the stock has been worm filled). Plate 17
A 19th century Kabyle Arab snaphaunce jezail, 53” overall, barrel 39½”, engraved with scrolled design for its whole length, the octagonal breech inlaid with rectangular and oval engraved brass plaques, lock of typical form inlaid with several small engraved metal plaques, fullstocked, plain fore end with 4 engraved brass barrel bands, the butt profusely inlaid with metal scrolled leaves, flowers and studs, the heel of ivory decorated with red and black concentric circles, with small plain iron trigger guard. Basically Good Condition (some wear and light pitting, the action AF) Plate 17
A brass barrelled and brass framed flintlock boxlock blunderbuss pistol with spring bayonet by Gill, c 1785, 12½” overall, integral bell mouth barrel 7” with Tower private proofs, left side with ramrod pipes and horn ramrod, and with 6½” spring bayonet beneath released by a rear trigger housed in the elongated trigger guard, frame engraved with panels of swags containing flower head and “Gill” in script, plain rounded walnut butt with brass grotesque mask butt cap and vacant oval escutcheon. Good Working Order and Condition (bayonet pitted, light rust to steel parts, the butt has traces of old repairs). Plate 18 Note: Gill worked in Birmingham from 1744 to 1800 and had addresses in London at Charing Cross and Strand.
A Geo light company officer’s sword, c 1800, with unusually long shallow fullered, curved blade, 32½”, by “Thos Wilcos. Warranted” (Hill St B’ham, 1777-1808) lightly etched with crowned GR cypher, crowned R Arms and supporters, standing officer with sword, trophy, with scrolling and foliage, gilt hilt, the guard slotted with 3 loops each side, into pierced crowned GR cypher and knucklebow, to lion’s head pommel and backstrap, diced pronounced ivory grip (cracked) in its leather scabbard with brass locket and (replaced) chape. Basically GC, retaining approx 20% original gilt (blade some wear and light pitting, scabbard leather AF). Plate 5
A 1796 pattern light cavalry officer’s sword, curved, shallow fullered blade 32½”, by “Woolley, Sargant & Crane’s. Warranted” (the style of the firm 1818-1820) etched with crowned R Arms, crowned GR cypher, mounted trooper, trophy of arms and florets, steel hilt with langets, pronounced knucklebow, backstrap with ears, wirebound leather grip, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings. GC, a clean example the blade retaining traces of gilding (minor scabbard dents). Plate 5
A 6 shot 54 bore self cocking bar hammer open wedge frame transitional percussion revolver, 12¼” overall, octagonal barrel 5¼” engraved “Gibbs Bristol” and with London proofs, the chambers numbered 1 to 6, the rounded scroll engraved frame with automatic half cock safety, the hammer with pierced sighting slot, the butt with finely chequered walnut grips and butt cap with hinged trap. GWO & C (slightly worn overall with some light pitting). Plate 7
* A good cased DB 12 bore top lever hammerless boxlock ejector sporting gun, by W R Pape, Newcastle upon Tyne, number 7611, 46” overall, damascus choke barrels 29¼”, top rib engraved “W R Pape, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Winner of the London Gun Trials in 1858, 1859, 1866 and 1875”, and with doll’s head extension; frame stamped with 1884 patent number and “Anson & Deeley’s Patent 13138”, with fine scroll and bouquet engraving, carved fences, top lever gold inlaid “Pape” with gold inlaid automatic top safety, walnut stock with chequered fore end and wrist, vacant gold escutcheon. GWO & C (light wear commensurate with age); in its fitted green baize lined brass bound leather covered case with maker’s trade label, containing rectangular oil bottle by W H Monk of Chester, cleaning rod and mop, with carrying handle and securing straps.
A 9mm long barrelled P08 “Artillery” Luger semi automatic pistol, number 1543 on barrel, 949 on frame, with “DWM” on toggle, the breech dated 1917, the front grip strap regimentally stamped “50.RMG 11”. WO and basically GC (action requires attention, light wear overall with minor pitting, the magazine a replacement), with COD dated 14.11.13 Plate 6
A 6 shot .38” Remington New Model Navy rim fire conversion double action revolver, the 6¾” barrel bearing address and patent date, the conversion effected by removing the rear of the cylinder and replacing it with a removeable plate, the cylinder having to be removed from the gun for loading, retaining the rammer arm but not the piston, with plain varnished walnut grips, the base of the butt with two threaded holes, presumably to take a shoulder stock. WO & GC (action requires slight attention, light patina overall) Plate 6

A scarce Third Reich NPEA Student’s dagger, by Eickhorn, the blade etched “Mehr Sein als Scheinen”, the hilt with plain brown grip and plain aluminium mounts with no trace of plating, in its plain olive green painted sheath.Clean Condition apart from a few light rust marks on the blade and some minor corrosion to the hilt mounts; in its original brown paper packet printed with the Eickhorn logo and “NPEA-Dolch” (some creasing and minor damage). Plate 11 Note: Issued daggers normally bore the student’s name and graduation date on the crossguard and also the school’s initial and number. The absence of these markings indicates a dagger that was unissued, as in this case.

A Pair of Ornate Silver Plate on Copper Twin-branch Wall Sconces. The urn-shaped wall mounts cast and chased with scrolling foliage and flowers suspended from rosette crested rings and having pendant tassel finials. The S-scroll arms emanating from a demi-lune collar and bearing octagonal urn shaped light sockets above swirling foliate 'drip pans', 18½ ins (47 cms) in length.
A Pair of Large Cantonese Vase Lamps painted in polychrome enamels with scenic panels depicting birds and landscape in a cobalt blue ground of scrolling flowers, foliage and bats. The necks moulded with a scalloped collar above a yellow ground band incorporating moulded beast heads bearing rings. The vases with gilt metal pedestals and fluted caps issuing light fittings, 40 ins (102 cms) overall in height.
