A 1965 Austin Champ 1/4 ton 4x4 CT light truck, registration BHW 59C: chassis number 4130, Vehicle 41 BE 30, 6/VEH/5931, 2386cc petrol engine, cast iron cylinder head stamped UNF, 16391 miles, green with canvas tilt, the body mounted pick axe, shovel , jerry can and spare wheel, together with worn spare tilt, starting handle and relevant paperwork. * Notes Inspired by The Willys Jeep the specification for a British Army light truck was issued in the 1940s, After 30 various types of prototype the Austin Motor Company was awarded the contract to supply 15,000 and the first one produced rolled off the production line in 1951. More expensive and less adaptable than the Land Rover the contract was amended and only 11,000 were eventually supplied to the British Army.
Road and Track: 1947 to 1976. A rare and excellent run of 26 hardbound quarto volumes of this quarto-size American magazine. The first volume is the limited edition of reprints of the first 15 issues, from June 1947 to October 1950, bound in navy-blue buckram with silver lettering. After making its debut in June 1947, the next issue was not published until May 1948. It was not until 1950 that some semblance of regularity entered into Road and Track's publishing schedule. The present run's second volume, bound in maroon cloth with gilt lettering, holds the issues from July/August 1950 to July 1951 (Vol. 2 No.12). The five monthly issues from August to December 1951 (Vol. 3 Nos. 1 to 5) are loose in a clear plastic sleeve. The remaining 24 volumes, uniformly bound in light brown cloth with gilt lettering to the spines, hold the issues from Vol. 3 No. 6, January 1952, to Vol. 28 No. 4, December 1976. All are in clean and sound condition, with their covers and advertisements. (28)

A selection of loose issues to include, Automobilia magazine dating from the 1920s (18), Speed Age from the 1950s (10), Light Car from the late 1940s (17), The Auto from the 1930s (12), and individual copies of Motor News, Très Sport, Motor Age, Automobile Racing etcetera. An interesting diverse lot. (4)
The Car Illustrated: A Journal of Travel by Land Sea & Air. Twelve early hardbound folio-sized volumes, nine of which are in the publisher's magnificent dark green cloth binding with elaborate gilt decoration and lettering, although it has to be said that these are all somewhat worn and marked, and some have weak internal hinges, although the contents seem to be clean and sound on the whole. The collection comprises Vols. 1 to 4, May 28th 1902 to May 20th 1903; Vol. 6, August 26th to November 18th 1903; Vol. 12, February 22nd to May 17th 1905; Vols. 14 to 18, August 23rd 1905 to November 14th 1906; and Vol. 21, May 22nd to August 14th 1907. Volumes 14 and 15 have been re-bound in modern light blue cloth and have no title pages or indices; Vol. 18 is in the publisher's usual format, but with pale blue instead of dark green cloth. Apart from Volumes 14 and 15, all the volumes have their title pages/indices bound in at the front. The lot also includes 5 issues of Country Life from 1926 to 1930. (17)
Rover - A Collection of Folder-Brochures, all dating from c1930, to include the Light Six, 10/25HP, Two Litre and Meteor together with an upkeep and management booklet for the latter. All in excellent condition. The brochures consisting of flap folders housing pictures of body styles of each car together with specification sheets and prices. (6)
Cyclecars & Light Cars. An album of assorted photographs, all monochrome and include examples of Sénéchal, Benjamin, Lion Peugeot, Morgan, Bugatti, Amilcar, BNC, etcetera. Some copy photographs, some cuttings, some postcards. Many unusual races and personalities. Mainly 5 x 8 ins (13 x 18 cms), about 200 images in about 100 clear plastic pockets.

Nineteen loose copies in a box file, comprising one issue from 1914 (No.78), one from 1915 (No. 146), eleven from 1916 (Nos. 164, 166, 175, 182, 204, 205, 210, 211, 212, and 2 copies of 214), one from 1917 (No. 255), two from 1918 (No. 275 and 313), and three from 1919 (Nos. 341, 347 and 361). Published by The Temple Press Ltd. All with their covers and advertisements, but in variable condition. (19 issues)

Published by The Temple Press Ltd. All with their covers and advertisements, but variable condition.
The Light Car and Cyclecar, Vol. V, No 112 to Vol. XIII, No. 317. An almost complete four-year run of loose issues from this rare wartime period; 11th January 1915 to 16th December 1918. The majority are in good, clean condition, albeit with page browning and some staple rusting, and all have their covers and advertisements, except issue No. 225. 23 issues are missing: Nos. 114, 117 to 119, 128, 130, 145, 152, 153, 157, 161, 184, 187, 220, 231, 266, 289, 290, 310, 311, and 313 to 315. Each half year of issues is housed in its own box file. (8 boxes)
The Light Car, 1934/35. A Temple Press publication in the publisher's brown cloth binding with gilt lettering to the front cover and spine, slightly worn and loose, holds 14 issues of The Light Car from Volume XLV, all with their covers and advertisements, top edge gently cropped, comprising those from No. 1146, Nov. 23 1934, to No. 1159, Feb. 22 1935. Title page and index pages to the whole volume are bound in at the front, there is page browning, but the issues of the journal all appear to be clean and sound.
A Peugeot Pacing Bicycle. Possessing a 25-inch semi-lightweight frame with blended lugs, finished in dark blue with light blue accents, 24-inch nickel-plated handlebars, Bauriat leather saddle, 26-inch narrow section wooden rims, the rear having a fixed hub and a 13-inch nickel-plated chain wheel with dual-roller-link inch pitch driving chain and rat trap pedals with period toe clips.
A c1905 Centaur Feather-Light Gentleman's Bicycle. A quality 26-inch cross-frame bicycle with original 28-inch wheels, duplex front forks and mudguards. Also featured are rat-trap pedals, stirrup braking with Centaur's patented Bowden cable-operated rear brake, inverted brake levers, Brooks saddle, steering lock, 7-inch cranks and green enamel finish. A three-speed hub gear with a hand control on the 16-inch nickel-plated handlebars is fitted. At one time in the collection of the late Allan Hawkes, the VCC Centaur enthusiast, a very original and highly useable bicycle.

Also, a 12pp brochure for the Bentley Continental, with specifications and images of various styles to include the Sports Saloon by Mulliner, in very good condition; a 1947 Bentley Mk IV Brochure; a Bentley 'S' Series colour brochure, two examples but both scuffed and a 1952 Mk IV brochure with a cream cover and silver logo attached, 24pp and five colour cards and a price list in the rear folding pocket, Good fettle, but with a light crease to the corner of the front cover, and other documents.
