A Pre Raphaelite style Victorian study of a recumbent girl reading a book, indistinctly signed and dated 1897 lower left, oil on canvas, unframed, 39 by 28cms.Condition ReportThere are two small tears to the canvas to this painting, one above her shoulder and one above her hands, there are some losses to the edges of the painting and the script to the bottom left is illegible. We have examined it under UV light and there is no sign of over painting but there are a few small areas of paint loss around the edges where a frame has been fitted. The canvas is a little thin in a few places which is visible with light and there are remains of paper backing and paper is still attached.
