I will first of all inform you in a few words about what I have done these last months. Having been appointed to the post of assistant professor at the Medical Academy, I had to abandon my medical post at the Military Hospital, where I was working very little but was well paid.´ Borodin continues by referring to his needs of finding additional work and income, which is always hard and takes time, `Having lost any hope in finding a convenient post, I sent to hell all teaching options. Therefore I needed the desired post itself to come and look for me. And guess what, the post came to me as a fact: not long ago, I received a proposal of a teaching contract at a Farming Academy College (for more than 7000 francs per year) What a beautiful thing!´ Borodin later describes his plans of becoming the future director of the chemical laboratory at the Medical Academy which is currently under construction, a luxurious and comfortable building where there will be 104 people working with the most advanced facilities, including gas, water and a small steam machine, also adding ´I will have an apartment at the laboratory itself, and will be able to work when I will want and as much as I want...´. I need to know in order to send him all my thanks´. Some extensive light overall age toning, some considerable show through of ink and several minor holes in the text caused by oxidation.
