Private collection Catalogue notes These light fittings were designed by Baillie Scott for the dining room of Glencrutchery House, Douglas in 1897-1898. In the same year he was also commissioned by the Grand Duke of Hesse to redecorate and furnish both the dining room and drawing room in the Ducal Palace, Darmstadt. The metalwork was produced under the supervision of Charles Robert Ashbee at the Guild of Handicrafts.

TWO GEORGE III BRITISH CAVLARY OFFICERS SWORDS to include: light cavalry troopers sword pattern 1796 with gold etched blade and metal mounted leather scabbard, wire bound grip. Together with a similar period officers sword with gilt metal guard, wire bound sharkskin grip and engraved blade featuring a dragon and scrollwork. No scabbard. (2) (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Both are in poor condition, the officers sword heavily tarnished. The blade with many nicks, the gilding to the hilt very tarnished although the wire and the sharkskin is good. Troopers sword badly nicked, discoloured and tarnished overall. Scabbard in poor condition, lacking the tip area.

AN EDWARDIAN STYLE PORTRAIT OF TWO FEMALE FIGURES, three quarter length, one seated, one standing, unsigned, framed, oil on canvas, approximately 120cm x 99cm (condition: the painting has been relined onto an earlier canvas, some paint loss in a few places, frame requires some attention)condition:On closer inspection we can see that the canvas has been cut and laid on a relining, although there is old canvas edging over the stretcher the painting based on the ladies dress probably dates to 1870’s/1880’s, the surface is very rippled and the varnish has crackled in a number of places, it is also very dirty, we have looked at the painting under UV light and there was no obvious repainting noted
