Together with the publication itself, A Bigger Book [SUMO monograph], limited edition numbered 0380 of 1000 [Nos. 1001-10,000 were released as a Collector's Edition], Elephant folio (70 x 50cm), Taschen, 2016, plus a companion chronology book, and an adjustable bookstand designed by Marc Newson from Apple, the whole housed in the original packing box with labels and locks. This has been kept by one private owner from new with the original packaging, and is therefore well-preserved and vibrant; the signed print appears pristine recto (front), but the verso (back) has light toning to margins and tape residue at top edge; the dust-jacket of A Bigger Book has some wear to corners; the dust-jacket of chronology book has slight bumping to edges; the protective packaging has some trivial marks & wear NB. The school would like to improve the grounds for current students by creating a small quiet garden, installing native plants and a natural seating area (proceeds from the sale of this book will be used for this purpose)

Philosopher's Stone is internally very well-preserved, clean & bright, almost appears unread, the author's signature has very slightly faded over time, the covers are bold & vibrant with light handling creases around corners and faintly along spine, lightly bumped & rubbed at corners/extremities, very slightly discoloured at spine. Octavo, full contemporary polished calf with morocco title labels lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers & page edges, each volume commencing with an opening blank leaf, engraved frontispiece, protective tissue-guard, engraved vignette title, and main title, each volume with a final blank leaf at rear, no advertisements. Internally well-preserved, good & bright, light fold-lines to some page corners, the occasional small mark or blemish, some pale spotting to endleaves and plates, neat owner inscriptions for "Isabella G. Allen, 1841" & "I. G. L. Phillips, 1842", a small paper patch at foot of Vol. IV title, bindings attractive, tight & square, discreet restoration to headcaps & joints, three of the morocco labels replaced to style. A very good example of this scarce and desirable set, being the first collected edition of Austen's novels. Early and important publications - no English reissue of Austen's novels is known after 1818, making these as follows: Emma, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion (second editions overall); Sense and Sensibility (third edition overall); Pride and Prejudice (fourth edition overall).
