KARL FRIEDRICH SCHINKEL (1781-1841) „Nähtisch und Armlehnstuhl“, Berlin, um 1829, Palisander, Messing und Kupfer, in flächenbetonter und formaler Schlichtheit gestaltete klassische Nähtischform auf Pilastern mit kapitellartigem Abschluss und abgespritzten Klauenfüßen, die in Tendenz des Biedermeier flächenbündig eingelegte Ornamentik aus Metall zeigt mittig der Deckplatte eine Nachbildung eines etrurischen Spiegels mit der Szenerie des Besuches des jungen Bacchus bei seiner Mutter Semele in der Unterwelt, die übrigen Messingeinlagen bestehen zumeist aus stilisierten Efeuranken, Akanthusblättern und Palmetten; Der Lehnstuhl von der Ornamentik passend dekoriert ist in seiner Form einem griechischen Stuhlmodell nachempfunden, welches nur aus Reliefdarstellungen in Seitenansicht überliefert ist, wie im antiken Vorbild ruht das Gestell mit doppelter Quergliederung über der Seitenzarge und der an Volutenpfosten angebrachten Rückenlehne auf vier kantigen in Balusterform gestalteten Beinen mit dreiseitigem Zwischensteg. HxBxT Nähtisch: 73/54/41 cm, HxBxT Lehnstuhl: 91/49/46 cm. Restaurierter Zustand mit partiellen Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren, am Nähtisch seitlich Oberflächlich eine hell abgesetzte Stelle, am Lehnstuhl part. Fehlteile an den Profielleisten bzw. einer Ziervolute (zwei Teile lose anbei), fehlende Ziermutter an einem Zwischensteg und an einem unteren Fußteil eine abgelöste Bandeinlage aus Messing. Dieses Objekt wurde unter Verwendung von Materialien hergestellt, für die beim Export in Ländern außerhalb der EU eine Genehmigung nach CITES erforderlich ist. Literatur: 1) Sievers 1950 S. 44, Abb. 136 bzw. Abb. 134. 2) Karl Friedrich Schinkel / Architektur Malerei Kunstgewerbe 1981 S. 304, Pos. 251 & 252. Provenienz: Dieser Nähtisch und der Armlehnstuhl wurden von dem Politiker Peter Christian Beuth bei seinem Freund Karl Friedrich Schinkel in Auftrag gegeben und befinden sich seither in Familienbesitz.| KARL FRIEDRICH SCHINKEL (1781-1841) "Sewing table and armchair", Berlin, c. 1829, rosewood, brass and copper, a classical sewing table, formed with an emphasis on surfaces and formal simplicity, supporded by pilasters with a capitell-like finish and spattered claw feet. The metal ornamentation is inserted flush with in the surface in Biedermeier style shows a replica of an Etrurian mirror in the centre of the top plate with the scene of the visit of the young Bachus to his mother Semele in the underworld; the other brass inlays consist mostly of stylised ivy vines, acanthus leaves and palmettes; The armchair, suitably decorated by the same ornamentation, is modelled from a Greek chair which has only survived from relief depictions in side view; as seen in the antique model, the frame with double transverse structure over the side frame and the backrest attached to volute posts rests on four angular, baluster-shaped legs with a three-sided itermediate web. HxWxD sewing table: 73/54/41 cm, HxWxD armchair: 91/49/46 cm. Restored condition with partial signs of age and use, on the side of the sewing table is a light-coloured spot, the armchair is partly missing parts on the profile mouldings and on the backrest. Missing pieces on the profile mouldings and a decorative volute (two parts loose), missing decorative nut on an intermediate bar and a detached brass band inlay on a lower foot section. This object was made using materials for which a CITES permit is required for export to countries outside the EU. Literature: 1) Sievers 1950 p. 44, fig. 136 and fig. 134. 2) Karl Friedrich Schinkel / Architecture Painting Arts and Crafts 1981 p. 304, pos. 251 & 252. Provenance: This sewing table and the armchair were commissioned by the politician Peter Christian Beuth from his friend Karl Friedrich Schinkel and have been in the family ever since.

Tempera on canvas applied on the panel Signed Latino and dated Rome 61.Giuseppe Latini, known as the Master of Ricciolo, was born in 1903, and was a painter and well-known Italian forger. The pseudonym "Master of the curl" derived from the peculiarity of the line of his drawings, turning the pen or pencil at the end of each stroke. He obtained the nomination of forger thanks to his ability to imitate the style of "an imaginative eighteenth century. He specialized in particular in the forgery of drawings from the Venetian environment of the Eighteenth Century which, deceiving many experts, have often become part of various museums and private collections. In the past, a drawing that depicted ancient Roman ruins, considered to be an eighteenth-century Venetian work, but created by the hand of the Maestro del Ricciolo. Seascape with characters is a tempera on canvas applied to the panel created by the artist in 1961. Latini depicts a marine environment whose details vaguely recall the views of the eighteenth-century masters Guardi and Canaletto. The mastery in painting the details of the landscape, with the foliage of the vegetation moved by the breeze, the light of the sun that illuminates the clouds, the ripples of the sea , confirms Giuseppe Latini's competence in being a talented artist and skilled forger in sync. Size UK10 EU38 Condition Report: ADDENDUM CONDITION REPORT - Good condition exterior with light marks under the arms on the jacket lining and other marks as shown on the jacket lining. May be improved with specialist cleaning. The skirt lining is good. Some creasing from storage. No tears. No chain to the jacket lining.

A collection of good vintage hats. Two excellent quality good-sized, boxed gentlemen's top hats. One in black silk plush with a long nap from Bates Jermyn Street, London. Approx. Size 7 in excellent condition and one in grey felt from Dunhill in Piccadilly Circus London. Size 6 7/8 and two ladies 1960s hats, one with a matching stock. One by international milliner OTTO LUCAS who made hats for Greta Garbo and Wallis Simpson. his creations are on display at he Victoria & Albert museum and The Museum of London. (Five items and two boxes)Condition Report: Good vintage condition. The grey felt hat has light moth damage on the top.
