Stavtseva Yana, "Birth", sprite graphics, 123 x 123cm, c. 2022. The triptych "New Life" was created by the impression of the ongoing events in Ukraine. Part 1 is birth, part 2 is becoming, part 3 is flowering. In it, I depicted a fragile flower, which, despite the difficulties and dangers in each of the stages, continues to reach for the sun and sky. And a new, beautiful life, in spite of everything, awaits this creation. Even in the darkest of times, one must remember to turn to the light. This quote perfectly reflects the current events, where the only thing you want to believe in is world peace. UK shipping £35. My name is Yana, I'm a graphic designer, I live and work in St.Petersburg. I am deeply convinced that art should not depend on politics, there can be no race or gender in art! Moreover, art often went against political beliefs!Like many artists from Russia, I was shocked by what happened and my work, the triptych "New Life", was created precisely under the impression of the ongoing events. I want to tell the whole world: "I am Russian, but I am against the war! I support the Ukrainian people!" Describing my feelings and thoughts now, I am anxious, because now in my country the authorities can punish me for such support .... but I thank the organizers Doncaster Art Fair for giving artists an opportunity to help people from Ukraine!
