1981 Ferrari 208GTBCoachwork by PininfarinaRegistration no. TDV 68WChassis no. F106CB33911Odometer Reading: 65,200MoT Expiry: 25/02/2021*Italian-market model*Engine rebuilt in 2015*Just 160 builtItaly's vehicle taxation class offered more favourable rates to smaller-engined cars and Ferrari rose to the challenge with its 2-litre version of the 308GTB and GTS, which used the 308's V8 engine but with a reduced bore. This 1981 example was imported towards the end of 2014 having up until then spent its life in Italy. In early 2015 the engine was removed and re-built, work including fitting a new cambelt and changing the gearbox oil and later in the year the steering rack was rebuilt. Today this unusual 1980s Ferrari remains in good original condition, with good order bodywork and paint, a very tidy engine bay and a very good all-black interior. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 65/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1976 Lamborghini UrracoRegistration no. OBA4 99PChassis no. 020168Odometer Reading: 13,800MoT Expiry: 24/07/2020*Comprehensive history*Has been restored*Ideal colour combinationBefore Italian supercar manufacturers decided their products should be wide-arched and be-spoilered, simple clean designs ruled the roost. A classic example is the Lamborghini Urraco, which acted as a stepping stone to the bigger and faster Countach. This car's bodywork was Ziebarted when new and is said to remain excellent and the paint, glass and trim again reported to be in fine condition. The interior (not solely the seats but carpet, dashboard and headlining) is described as excellent throughout. At the heart of any supercar is the engine and the three-litre powerpack is reported to be excellent, starting- and running-wise while the drivetrain, recently checked over by a specialist, is said to be in commensurate order. Reassuringly there are no issues with the excellent-order electrical system. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click here Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 99/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1969 Jensen Interceptor Registration no. VEA 999GChassis no. 1153335Odometer Reading: TBCMoT Expiry: N/A*Very well presented*Driving well*Many upgradesQuite how the Interceptor appealed to both the last vestiges of post-war old money and newly-wealthy stars of showbusiness is testament to its rakish looks, which hinted at the power that lay beneath the panelwork. Here is a 1969 big-block (7.2-litre) example that has enjoyed some sensible mechanical upgrades to improve the driving experience and to boost longevity. The engine has been fully stripped-down and re-built with new pistons and bearings and fast road cam means even more power is supplied at the squeeze of the throttle. New timing chain and gears keeps the internals running smoothly, as does electronic fuel injection and ignition, while an in-tank electric fuel pump supplies the fuel. Silicon hoses keep the liquids in motion and a complete new wiring loom supplies the sparks. Twin electric fans keep the engine cool and a stainless steel exhaust system is fitted. MPH is delighted to report this example is in very good order bodywork- and paint-wise: the glass and trim are to the same order and new 17-inch alloy wheels with new tyres complete the look. Behind the fresh treads is a set of uprated four-pot AP brakes and Koni shock absorbers and for those liking brightwork, re-chroming has been carried-out. The interior was always an Interceptor strong-point and this car's does not disappoint. The fully retrimmed leather interior shows little sign of use and the seats are well cushioned: carpet, door panels and dashboard (the rev counter has been modified for electronic ignition) are as good, as is the wood. The steering wheel is by Motorlite. All in all a superb example with sensible modifications that make this Jensen a highly useable example. Despite being restored between 1988 and 1991 the black bodywork still presents well, other than some shrinking to the roof material: the engine bay remains supremely tidy. The interior imparts an air of cars way more expensive and remains in good order throughout although there are some small holes in the front passenger seat. The headlining has been replaced. In all a highly desirable Monaco, of which few examples come to market. 1934 Austin 7 Box SaloonRegistration no. ABJ 582Chassis no. 192861Odometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt *Rebuilt from stripped chassis and with new floor pan*Engine said to be in good condition*Bodywork said to be in good order This 1934 Seven Box saloon is an ideal starter car for VSCC events, or those wanting a fun smaller pre-war car you can maintain at home. While it presents well, it is ripe for some further improvement, either from an old hand or from someone new to the idea of a pre-war car's refurbishment. Our vendor tells us the car's bodywork is in good condition, as is the glass and wheel/tyre combination, but the paint is average. However, a new floorpan, made by a sheet-metal craftsman, has been fitted. The interior in its entirety is presentable, but could be improved. The engine reportedly starts and runs well while the running gear, including gearbox (noisy on idle), clutch, suspension and brakes are in average order. There is some history. 1933 Alvis SA 16.95 SaloonRegistration no. KY 4232Chassis no. 10301Odometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt *Bodywork restored *Presentable interior*Charlesworth coachwork In the 1930s Alvis built its reputation on cars such as the SA16.95 saloon, and this Charlesworth-bodied example, believed to be a prototype one-off, reportedly presents well but, more importantly, is said to have had much work carried out to the body frame, meaning good shutlines and panel fit. Paintwork is reported to be good and the engine bay smart. The interior is smart, tidy and shows no signs of maltreatment and the seat facings are pleasingly mellowed. On the road it is reported as starting, running and driving well. Offering comfortable pre-war motoring at a fraction of its contemporties this prototype Alvis comes with a good history file and it offers a great opportunity for any intending Alvis owner. 1935 Ford V8 Rumble Seat CabrioletRegistration no. Presented here is a UK-registered, right-hand drive older restoration with good bodywork, but the paint has, on closer inspection, some imperfections as well as some chips and touch-ins. The hood, while generally reasonable, has some small holes and its inner facing is discoloured. Seats and door panels are good but require cleaning, the rumble seat being in the same order. Under the bonnet there is some paint lifting. The flathead V8 engine starts and runs well and the running gear is generally good, as is the electrical system. SC33E-2014558Odometer reading: 11,503 MilesMoT expiry date: 15 May 2007* Purchased new by the late owner* Good cosmetic condition* Requiring recommissioning Launched in 1992, Honda's Fireblade rewrote the rulebook and blew away the opposition and went on to change the face of sportsbikes. The brainchild of Honda designer Tadao Baba, he was obsessed with weight saving and the 'Blade' used the latest technology together with a 122bhp 893cc engine, gradually enlarged throughout production. 1996 saw major changes to the CBR900RR including revised suspension and chassis. This 918cc third generation CBR900RR was purchased new by its late owner in May 1996 from Wylie & Holland Motor Cycles of Market Drayton. Used regularly until c.2006 alongside his stable of other sportsbikes, the machine was maintained by his personal mechanic. Last run and worked on in May/June 2017 (with the assistance of a slave battery), the machine is believed to have carburettor issues and is therefore sold strictly as viewed, requiring a replacement battery and recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent. This 1937 model is an older restoration that is generally, in terms of body, paint and trim still tidy, although there is a small area of woodworm to the nearside rear pillar and the door rubbers have perished. Here is a left-hand drive 1958 model that is said to be running and driving well, a testament to the rugged underpinnings Peugeots had for many years. The bodywork remains solid but there are some rust patches on the horizontal panels: the interior is believed to be original but seat facings, door cards and dashboard are in good order, as is the boot. Many examples enjoyed long-term ownership and today there is a strong following for them. Presenting well, this restored 100 enjoys very good panel fit and good paint: chrome and glass are in similar order. P4 interiors were always a strong point and this car's is no exception. 1973 Triumph SpitfireRegistration no. YDO 5LChassis no. FH44718DOdometer Reading: 36000MOT: 16/05/2020*Recent Mechanical Work*Runs and Drives Well*Good ExampleSpitfires are highly credible rivals to the MG Midget, being cheap to run, easy to work and backed by great clubs and spares support. With lighter evenings and fairer weather soon with us this highly appealing example has much appeal, particularly as the bodywork and trim are in very good order, as is the glass. The interior too presents very well – more fastidious enthusiasts will be pleased to know this car's seats; door cards and carpets will not require replacing in the near future. Spitfires are well regarded for their mechanicals which while relatively simple are rugged and easy to work on. Our vendor says this car is an excellent starter and that it runs very well, while cosmetically there is some room to perk things up, while the gearbox, clutch and suspension are rated as good. There is some history. In all potentially immense fun but affordable too, which firmly underline's the Spitfire's appeal. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Please note the MoT expiry date is 06/03/2021, not as catalogued. Please note the hardtop has been on this car for nearly all it's life and so the soft top and tonneau are in very good condition, and there is no rust within the car. Please note the correct chassis number is FH44718.Vendor Score Total: 72/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The Property of Robbie Coltrane1964 Jaguar Mk2 3.4-Litre SaloonRegistration no. HOO 449BChassis no. 164567DNOdometer Reading: 40,009MoT Expiry: 17/04/2020*Features mechanical upgrades*Engine re-built in 2002*Good bodyworkSitting between the entry-level 2.4 and the range-topping 3.8 many Jaguar cognescenti regard the 3.4 as the best of the trio, its mix of handling and performance not being bettered by the bigger-engined model. Noted actor Robbie Coltrane bought this manual gearbox model from Bonhams in 1998 and during his 22 years' ownership it has enjoyed some sensible modifications including upgraded brakes and steering, as well as a five-speed manual gearbox. Marque specialists Vicarage re-built the engine in 2002 following an engine fire (recorded as a Category C) while two years ago Alyth Restorations carried out £32,000-worth of work. It should be noted that a 240 dashboard is fitted featuring the sliding choke control. It starts and runs well, the running gear is said to be in generally good order, as are the electrics. Bodywork, paint and wheels remain in very good condition. Interior-wise the seats are in good fettle while door cards, dashboard and headlining offer scope for some improvement if required. Market readjustment has seen 'Mk2' values becoming more sensible and these models are once again temptingly priced, as this desirable-specification 3.4 shows. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 70/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. RC46E2002895Odometer reading: Unknown – 19,922 miles to last 2015 MOTMoT expiry date: 6 April 2016* Purchased new by the late owner* Good cosmetic condition* Requiring recommissioning With a formidable reputation for reliability and good build quality, the VFR800 paid homage to many of its predecessors, inheriting much of its engine design from the legendary RC45 of 1994, but with a detuned and longer-stroke powerplant. The VFR800 used its engine as a stressed member, initially seen in the VTR Firestorm and retained the trademark single sided swingarm we have all come to love. Purchased new by the late owner January 1998 from Wylie & Holland Motor Cycles of Market Drayton, the machine was used regularly up until April 2016 (last MOT date, displaying 19,922 miles). Last started April 2018 by the late owner's mechanic (with the assistance of a slave battery), the machine has been standing unused since, and requires a replacement battery (hence the absence of a current odometer reading). Accordingly, the machine will require recommissioning or restoration to a greater or lesser extent and is therefore sold strictly as viewed. Offered with V5C, old V5, expired MOT's, original purchase receipt and Datatag correspondence. It should be noted the VIN number/prefix has been incorrectly recorded on the V5/C documents from new (VFR800F1WE0002617) despite featuring correctly on the upper chassis.Footnotes:Sellers' Assessments Score Total: 58/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1951 Land Rover Series 1Registration no. USJ 597Chassis no. 26102623Mileage: TBCMoT: TBC*Running well*Good mellowed condition*Some historyStill in use throughout the world and still immeasurably popular Land Rovers have been involved in almost every form of trade or task and even early examples, such as this 1951 model remain highly useful. This example starts and runs well and engine and gearbox are said to be generally good, as are the brakes, steering and suspension. Body and paint are good to fair but Land Rovers – and especially older ones – are one classic where appearance isn't all about looking showroom fresh. The interior is eminently usable and generally good, and we advised there is some history. An ideal daily driver that would score serious cool points on the school run, for shopping errands or load-lugging, this is one early Landie not to be missed.A particularly appealing earlier model that enjoys a wonderfully-patinated aura and generally good mechanicals.Footnotes:Please note the odometer reading is 37,442.Vendor Score Total: 60/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1956 Bedford RL Green Goddess Registration no. PGW 158Chassis no. 7559Mileage: TBAMoT: Exempt*From the Cornbury Park Estate*Well maintained*Generally good orderThe Bedford RL 'Green Goddess' has played a significant role in British military and social history, standing in when required in civilian life while firmly remaining part of the Army. Down the years many have been sold off with a large number ending up in the hands of collectors who have continued to maintain military levels of maintenance and preservation. This model remains in the very best of condition, its paint and generous-sized bodywork in very good order. No longer fighting fires it has spent the past few years keeping its pumps and busy on the Cornbury Park estate, where it has been used for plant watering. Glass, wheels and tyres are very good too while the unsurprisingly generous interior has tidy seats and trim. Years of maintenance means this example starts and runs well, but it also presents well and the suspension and brakes are good too. There is some history. Potentially a highly usable classic with room for plenty of people, there is no getting away from this RL's big-hearted character.Bonhams' well-maintained example of this much-valued commercial vehicle not only presents well, but is reported to be running and driving well. It is an ideal way of ferrying plenty of friends to the local.Footnotes:Please note the odometer reading is 3,587 miles.Vendor Score Total: 78/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH.
