Japy Frères, Paris, a French pink porcelain clock garniture: the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell with an outside countwheel and stamped with the trademark for the maker Japy Frères, Paris, along with the trademark for the retailer Henry Marc, Paris, the round pink porcelain dial decorated with painted floral decoration and having gilt Roman hour numerals and gilt-brass spade hands, the tapered gilt-metal case having applied scroll mouldings with engraved decoration, inset pink porcelain panels and tapered decorative porcelain pillars to the sides, all surmounted with a gilt-metal figure of a putto holding a bow and arrow, the rear of the case stamped for the casemaker Mourey of Paris, complete with a pair of matching five-light side-pieces, height 39cms clock, 42cms side-pieces.* Biography For details of Japy Frères see lot no. 42084/1.
