Hofner 500/1 Bass Guitar, Hofner 500/1 Bass Guitar - 'pots' indicate 1963 manufacture (stamped 250k 443) and other parts detailed here indicate a similar date (although see logo information) - 'tobacco burst' body with 22 rosewood fret board - single open access tuners, 3 layer black and white nut, small frame pickups, small cream / pearl control panel with cream knobs and cream switches, pearl cover heel end, pearl cream pickguard, 'made in Germany' on base of tailpiece. The number stamped on the 'pots' and the parts point to a bass made in 1963, but the logo on the headstock is lacquered gold, rather than plastic raised lettering which you would expect on a 1963 model. Condition wise, plastic broken off the volume knob, small piece broken off the right hand side of the nut, one string saddle missing on the bridge, a couple of small dents on the body by the bottom of the fret board, a triangular indentation on the rear of the headstock and light general wear around body edges - otherwise in good condition - straight neck, nice action - comes with strap and soft gig bag
