English Provincial School, 19th centuryA running foxoil on panel47 x 101.5cm Condition report: See additional images.The panel is made up of 2 pieces with a horizontal join. To the reverse the panel is quite uneven with looses to the edges, however the front is quite flat and even. There is fine craquelure in parts which is starting to lift in places, apparent in the illustration. There are 2 vertical lines through the paint one a third way along to the left, the second to near the right edge. These do not seem to relate to any cracks in the panel. There is some scattered retouchings in places throughout apparent under UV light.

The canvas is unlined. There are 2 small repairs with retouching, and corresponding patches to the reverse, to the right of the top edge and the extreme right edge. There is a small spot of retouching to the flank of the horse. The work is quite dirty which makes any reading under UV light difficult, however no significant retouching is apparent elsewhere.

There are a number of surface marks to the playing surfaces, these not usually heavier though there is a light scratch towards the end of track A1, this............................. The original sleeve (47 West 63rd address) is in VG condition - there is some light 'lifting' to 2 of the corners on the front, a section of the spine is split and there is some general foxing with a light paper tear on the bottom reverse edge.

GRANT GREEN - GRANT'S FIRST STAND LP (EARLY 'CROSSOVER' US MONO BLUE NOTE PRESSING - BLP 4064). Scarcely seen 2nd US mono 'crossover' pressing of Grant Green here with 'Baby Face' Willette and Ben Dixon. The LP (New York USA side 1 address, 47 West 63rd side 2 address, with RVG machine stamped, no Plastylite 'P') is in very smart Ex condition showing just a couple of very light and minor hairline marks. The sleeve (43 West 61st) is in very clean Ex condition with a very light sticker removal mark on the front, very little wear otherwise!
GRANT GREEN - GREEN STREET LP (ORIGINAL US MONO BLUE NOTE PRESSING - BLP 4071). More mesmerising guitar work from Grant Green with this original 1961 LP also featuring Ben Tucker and Dave Bailey. With New York USA address labels, RVG machine stamped and the Plastylite 'P' on both sides. Side 1 is in VG condition with some light surface marks noted, these never heavier in nature at all. Side 2 is in clean VG+ condition showing just a couple of light and minor hairline marks. The sleeve (43 West 61st address) is in VG+ condition - the front lovely and clean, the reverse with a small paper tear on the bottom left corner and a little section starting to peel on the right section.

Absolutely wonderful 1965 LP from Grant Green and also introducing Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson, Duke Pearson, Bob Cranshaw and Al Harewood, this the original US mono pressing on Blue Note. The record (BLP 4154, New York USA address, VAN GELDER machine stamped and the Plastylite 'P' on both sides) is in very neat Ex condition showing just a couple of light and minor surface marks that are only really noted on side 1 - these never heavier in nature. The sleeve (43 West 61st) is in Ex condition - the front super sharp and clean, there is just a little edgewear and 2 x extremely small paper tears on the top section of the reverse. A really lovely copy of this essential album.

With top condition clean and sharp labels. Housed with well presented original company sleeve.

Huge Northern 1967 cut from Bettye Swann, this the original UK demo on CBS (white/red labels 2942). The record is in Ex+ condition only showing a couple of exceedingly light paper hairline marks running with the groove on the flip I Will Not Cry. Brilliant sharp and clean labels. Also with fantastic to see original press release housed with fragile promo picture sleeve - this in lovely Ex condition with just a couple of (to be expected) minor creases.
