This Other Edenis an Irish comedy drama, screenplay by Patrick Kingwan and Blanaid Irvine, adapted from the play of the same title by by Louis DAlton, starring Audrey Dalton, Leslie Phillips and Niall MacGinnis. British director and writer, Muriel Box, was the first woman to direct an Irish feature film and only received the script January 1, 1959. Shooting was completed at Ardmore Studios, Bray, Ireland, in just under a month on February 12, 1959. The film, distributed by Regal Films International, had its Irish premiere at the Cork Film Festival, September 1959. The film was directed by Joseph Losey, a communist, who was blacklisted by the Hollywood studios and moved to work in the UK, he was credited on screen under the pseudonym Alec C. Snowden. The screenplay was written by fellow communist, Howard Koch, who had also been blacklisted in the US. and wrote under the name of Peter Howard. The film, originally titled With All My Heart was released in the US. as Finger of Guilt. Snowden (1901-1983) was British film producer and son of the novelist, J. Keighley Snowden. Little Red Monkey is a British spy drama directed by Ken Hughes, starring Richard Conte, Rona Anderson and Russell Napier. The screenplay by Ken Hughes and James Eastwood was based on aBBC. television series of the same title written by Eric Maschwitz which ran for six 30-minute episodes in 1953. The film was made at Merton Park Studios, London and was an international success. The screenplay written by Blanaid Irvine and Patrick Kirwan is an adaptation of the 1956 play, The Big Birthday, by Hugh Leonard.Julian McLaren Ross (1912-1964) was a British novelist, short-story writer, memoirist, screenwriter and literary critic. His writing breakthrough came in 1940 whenHorizon magazine agreed to publish his short story, A Bit of a Smash in Madras, however, shortly after its publication he was conscripted into the army, imprisoned for desertion in January 1943 and suffered a nervous breakdown. Throughout the 1940s McLaren Ross became a flamboyant presence in the pubs of Fitzrovia and Soho and worked as a scriptwriter on government propaganda documentaries alongside the poet Dylan Thomas. In 1958 McLaren Ross married Diana Bromley, Leonard Woolfs bohemian niece who gave birth to Alex Maclaren Ross, his only child. Keighley Snowden. Escapement is a British horror, science-fiction film, directed by Montgomery Tulley and David Paltenghi (dream sequences) released in the US. as The Electronic Monster. Julian McLaren Ross (1912-1964) was a British novelist, short-story writer, memoirist, screenwriter and literary critic. His writing breakthrough came in 1940 whenHorizon magazine agreed to publish his short story, A Bit of a Smash in Madras, however, shortly after its publication he was conscripted into the army, imprisoned for desertion in January 1943 and suffered a nervous breakdown. Throughout the 1940s McLaren Ross became a flamboyant presence in the pubs of Fitzrovia and Soho and worked as a scriptwriter on government propaganda documentaries alongside the poet Dylan Thomas.
