Olympic Games Berlin 1936.Official Torch with COA - Original Olympic torch of the Olympic Games in Berlin 1936. From the first torch relay which brought the Olympic fire from Olympia to Berlin. Designed by Entwurf Walter E. Lemcke, Berlin. Made by Krupp, Essen. Krupp Nirosta V 2A steel. Height 27.5 cm With certificate of authenticity. Plus original black-and-white film by Kalle Ozaphan company "Olympische Spiele 1936 Fackellauf" in original can made in 1936. Original torch made in 1936 with etched inscription. Weight: 460 grams. Not to be confused with the official replica which was made by Krupp on occasion of the Olympic Games in Munich 1972 and which was given to VIPs only. This 1972 replica just looks like the original piece Yet the base of the torch starts off with a vertical of approx 4 mm until it turns into a conical form. Weighs approx 400 grams. Weight of the original torch of 1936 was 440 grams. Above all, there is a Bulgarian forgery which has been offered since 2012 both on the internet and on auctions. This forgery doesn't have the etching but an embossed inscription. It weighs about 550 grams. The head of the torch on offer is slightly twisted. Small traces of usage, otherwise beautiful copy of this sought after piece. Film in mint condition. Runs five to eight minutes.
