An early 19th century hunting hanger, straight SE blade 19”, with traces of etching, brass hilt with scalloped irregular shell guard, crossguard and hoof quillon, knucklebow and hoof terminal into plain pommel and backstrap, bone grips secured by 3 oval studs. GC (hilt a little loose and bent). Plate 9
A silver hilted smallsword, c 1775, hollow triangular section blade 32½”, with traces of etching, pierced oval guard with studded panels around the edge and scrolled inner panel, the crossguard, token pas d’ane rings, hollow centre section, knucklebow and hollow ball pommel studded and engraved overall, simulated cord and crimped band grip, maker’s mark WK and lion to underside of guard and traces of marks to pas d’ane rings (William Kersill, London 1749-77).
