A Victorian silver mounted etched glass classical revival claret jug, by Henry Bourne, Birmingham 1875, etched with 'Night' and 'Day' after Thorvaldsen, 28cmCONDITION: Tarnish to the silver otherwise good condition. Handle is springy but there is no evidence a girdle mount is missing as it would have covered up the etching.

William Lippincott (New York, 1849 - 1920) "An Idyl" oil on canvas painting. Signed lower right. With old labels verso. Housed in a gilt frame. Provenance: Important New York City private collection. Lippincott taught at the National Academy of Design and also attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He exhibited in the Paris Salons until 1882 and then returned to the United States where he set up a studio in New York City. He exhibited regularly for more than 40 years at the National Academy of Design, elected an associate member in 1884 and a full academician in 1897. In addition to the National Academy, Lippincott was a member of the New York Etching Club, Philadelphia Sketch Club, and American Watercolor Society. Sight Size: 10.5 x 14 in.
