After Judy Ball (contemporary) A set four floral studies, pencil signed, uniformly gilt-framed under glass, 36 cm x 20 cm [Judy Ball was born in Bosham, Chichister in 1940. Educated in Scotland, she trained as a florist at Constance Spry, London. When her children reached teen age she took up etching, selling her work at Covent Garden Market, this grew into the business Judy Ball Cards. Since retired, she now resides at Rye Harbour.]
An antique early 19th century named Naval Dirk / Dagger, believed to be US / American in origin. Having a brass pommel engraved with anchor decoration and the inscription ' USS Enterprise Sailing Master James Bassett 1813 '. A ribbed bone handle with a chain stretching from the pommel to the guard. Floral etching to the curved blade, housed within original leather scabbard. Measures approx 47cm.The USS Enterprise was the third US ship to be named Enterprise was a schooner, built by Henry Spencer at Baltimore, Maryland, in 1799. Her first commander thought that she was too lightly built and that her quarters, in particular, should be bulletproofed. Enterprise was overhauled and rebuilt several times, effectively changing from a twelve-gun schooner to a fourteen-gun topsail schooner and eventually to a brig. Enterprise saw action in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean again, capturing numerous prizes. She wrecked in July 1823.

The first being a traditional North African ' Jambiya ' dagger having a brass capped pommel with floral etching and a wooden grip with green celluloid decoration to the collar. The curved double edge blade of typical form is housed within a intricately carved brass scabbard with suspension rings. The second a North African ' Wahhabite ' half sword having a characteristic white metal and brass mounted hilt. A curved double edged blade of typical form and housed within its original leather scabbard with decorated collar and brass tip. Highly detailed African knives. Measure approx 45 and 71cm
