HENRY ASTON BAKER (c.1874-1856), "COMING TO ANCHOR", a marine watercolour of a man-of-war, watercolour, titled and monogrammed in ink, with dealer`s label verso; together with "SOUTH SEA CASTLE...NEAR PORTSMOUTH", by the same hand, with a note verso, a marine watercolour, titled and monogrammed to the reverse of the watercolour (not removed from frame). (2) 12cm by 18.5cm and 14cm by 21.5cm. Note: the first with a dealer`s note verso indicating a date on the reverse of the watercolour of May 1798 and a further hand-written note stating that the same subject appears as an etching in the Naval Chronicles with the original painting attributed to Nicholas Pocock. A similar note is inscribed to the reverse of the second watercolour.
