Callot first etched the subject in Florence and returned to it in 1634, after the invasion of Lorraine and his father's death. Another example of this edition is in the collection of the British Museum (accession number 1861,0713.1594) CONDITION REPORT: unframed trimmed, plate marks not all visible printed from two plates on two sheets joined down the centre stuck down on laid paper appears to have been folded prior to being stuck down, with associated creasing with further creasing and handling marks tears to the sheet, including a tear approx 14cm long on the right side of the sheet, halfway down, and a jagged tear approx 11cm long in the upper right corner circular staining to right edge of sheet, the larger 3cm in diameter, appears to be grease nicks to the edge of the sheet yellowed
