A SUPERB 20TH CENTURY NICKEL ON STEEL SINGLE FULLERED SCOTTISH BASKET HILT SWORD BY WILKINSON, Pall Mall, London (No. 45424), the acid etched blade bearing the Royal Arms of George V and the badge of The Gordon Highlanders, both amid prolific swags of thistles, complete with brown leather service dress scabbard and basket liner with tassel to pommel, the shagreen grip intact. The absence of a Condition Report does not imply that a lot is without imperfections. The blade in first class order and the scabbard polished and in parade condition. The shagreen drip in very good order.
A VERY SCARCE REGIMENTALLY MARKED POST 1911 (IN REALITY WWI) OFFICERS' PATTERN SWORD, with interchangeable steel ceremonial and service dress hilts, the latter incorporating the regimental badge of The Gordon Highlanders, the acid etched blade also featuring the Gordons badge together with the Royal cypher for Geo.V. maker's name Henry Wilkinson of Pall Mall London, complete with its service dress scabbard and leather sword frog. The acid etching in good order, the decoration showing only minimal wear. The steel hilts intact, each fitting as it should. The leather of scabbard and frog complete with all stitching intact, the buckles present and functional. All in all, a highly desirable regimental sword.
A VERY RARE MID 19TH CENTURY POLICE HANGER BY PARKER, FIELD AND SON, 233 HOLBORN, LONDON, the blade acid etched 'Berwick County Constabulary' with brass hilt and brass mounted black leather scabbard, the bottom chape absent, modelled on the customs hanger, the police variant is rarely found named to a specific constabulary.
